The Scoop: The Rock Allegiance Tour has been rumbling through a healthy number of states for a few weeks now and is finishing up in our beautiful home base of Brooklyn this coming Saturday. The tour itself is an exciting one because the co-headlining sets of Volbeat and HIM alone are worth the price of admission and when you add All That Remains to the mix, well, I guess you don’t need me to say any more. Airbourne was originally scheduled to appear but had to cut their tour short based on personal business back home. Now I’ve enjoyed the music of HIM the longest out of the performers and am very excited to see them especially since the bands earlier in the year tour was scrapped due to illness. Volbeat of course is a live concert heavyweight and their fans are super supportive. This is going to be a good one if you can trust what people are posting on their social mediums. That being said I am psyched to offer up this next contest that comes care of the fine folks at AEG marketing and lets me put a few lucky PiercingMetal readers into the show. Read on.
When and Where: Saturday, September 28th at Williamsburg Park (50 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, NY)
To Participate: As a journalist who has been writing about almost all of these bands for a number of years I am going to put you to task on this one. You need to pick one or two bands and give me three reasons why their sound has changed your musical life. This is a very special show to me as a Writer so don’t think that by saying “they’re awesome” or “they rock” and “I love them” gets you a ticket. You need to send me over the moon with the submission and remember you MUST put three separate things. I suggest numbering them. Putting an extra might win some points but less will be ignored. Be sure to enter your full real name and a valid email address in the comment form since we shall need that for the listing, and it never hurts to subscribe to the comments for the duration of the contest. I will be replying to the submissions that I like the most with one of my own. As all comments are moderated we ask that you only enter once. Single tickets only by the way. Bring it on.

I’m not gonna lie, I don’t listen to HIM as much as I used to. But they were definitely one of the reasons I ever picked up a guitar in the first place. My cousins would always show me the new HIM songs, and I’ve yet to find one that I didn’t want to try to learn (even though they were impossible for me to play when I first started playing). All That Remains, on the otherhand, was an inspiration much later in my life, for the music my band was writing back in high school. Everyone liked ATR, and our music definitely showed it. I pretty much got through my first show thanks to them.
There are only a handful of bands that I can say have directly influenced my music; HIM and All That Remains are definitely two of the most important to me. And it also gave me and cousins something to bond over; a love of the same music.

1. Thanks to HIM I learned about Finland and thanks to “His Infernal Majesty” it made me curious about the country until that my knowledge of the Country was minimal. Since then I have visited Finland twice and saw HIM perform live in Ankkarock, Helsinki during their Venus Doom Tour.
2. The HIM Music is mainly uptempo or slower songs with haunting keyboard sound all over the songs that I like so much. Also the lyrics are deep n’ dark but romantic. Him’s music gives me happiness-energy-good feeling!!
3. HIM has stayed true to their original style; the same elements can be found from the 1st Album Greatest Love Songs to the latest Tears On Tape and yes I have bought all their albums not downloaded any of them in order to support my favorite band.

H.I.M.! Been a fan for years and never have seen them live. Add the always show worthy Volbeat and you have two of the more dynamic metal groups on the scene today!
