The Details: Vanilla Fudge is one of the legendary names in Rock and Roll history and were truly innovators of sound from the very beginning. They were most commonly known as being the band that took songs that were already popular and known and morphing them into wild Psychedelic renditions twisting that took you to a different space in your music appreciating mind. Formed in 1966 by Mark Stein, Vince Martell, Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice, the band released five albums in full before disbanding. Over the years they have done reunions here and there and I am happy to report that in the 2014 ever changing music geography of the world that the band still performs with three of its original four members. I am psyched to be offering my PiercingMetal readers the chance to see this incredible band for free thanks to the fine folks at B.B. King Blues Club where they will be performing once again. I saw Vanilla Fudge once before at BB King’s on their “farewell” tour and it was better than i expected. With most of these aging bands, its either hit or miss. VF definitely delivered the goods. I own all their own records and have been following the career of Carmine Appice for years. He’s obviously a living legend who first came to my attention in Ozzy’s Bark At the Moon video. After all, VF co-headlined a tour with a young Led Zeppelin!

Carmine Appice is a legendary drummer and it would be amazing to get a chance to see him live and hopefully watch one of those brutal solos.

I would like to see Vanilla Fudge because I was too young to see them when they were around the first time. I’ve seen Cactus and BBA but I’m “missing” the foundation. they were ALSO the foundation of Deep Purple too….so I would like a first hand glimpse of the forefathers of Rock as we know it today
