Stryper
The Details: The Soldiers Under God’s Command are back in the New York Groove and will be bringing their great live sound to the hot new Stage 48 venue on the West Side of town. It’s always great to have the attack of the yellow and black keeping us fans on a positive Metal path and not only are they still celebrating their revisit to some classics with “Second Coming” but they are also delivering the latest to be greatest stuff from their recent “No More Hell To Pay” album. Surely this is going to be a fun night of music. Now, add to this coolness the absolute levels of awesome in the fact that the Marketing Team behind Stage 48 who have asked PiercingMetal to hold this contest and put some people in the room for free. This excites me almost as much as the fact that the band still possesses all original members. Read more on how to participate.

If you are one of the new and curious, convince me why you should make the cut. You can put a few reasons if you like as well. I will be selecting the best comments and replying directly to their submission. Please be sure to enter your full real name and an email address in the comment form (but not in the comment itself) as we might need to reach you about the show. It also never hurts to subscribe to the comments for the duration of the contest so you know right away. Please only enter “once” and be patient if you do not see your comment appear right away. *** IMPORTANT UPDATE *** This show was cancelled due to the snowstorm that hit NYC a couple of days before and HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED to April 12th, also a Saturday. I’ve always considered Stryper one of my Hard Rock and Metal guilty pleasures and as result I enjoy quite a bit of their songs. Here are a number of links for the bands output so you can check it out as well. I hope that you will agree with me after deeper listening.
Reading about Stryper and getting “Soldiers Under Command” got me hooked! Finaaly after all these years I have gotten to see them twice and plan to go see them Saturday whether I win or not. They are the real deal and true to their fans!

Stryper always has made a huge impact in my life. First of all because they stick to they’re believes, never changed the theme of the band ,second never changed styles, every single album they release keeps getting better. As a Christian I always looked up to them and with they’re music they’ve always encouraged me to play what I like(metal).. I really look forward to see them at this show…. If possible. Thank You!

awesome and underrated 80’s band. sweet had great vocals but the riffs were unbelievable.
Twenty something years ago i simply kept the fact that i liked this band one to myself. a thrasher listening to stryper!!! But i am glad i did ‘coz they are great musicians and time has just proved they are also true metalheads. i saw them live once and i am looking forward to listening to them live once again. A few of their songs bring me awesome memories.

I suppose I am one of the “new and curious” brigade, though I have long been familiar with the band, I havent really gone deep into their catalog. Once I did, going back to the classics like To Hell with Devil, though, I was very impressed with the outstanding melodies and the technical skill on display. As for the lyrical content, well, I find it only adds to the fire, because when you sing about things you feel strongly about , it shows. I would love to see Stryper work their magic live.

Hey my friends, I’m going to close up this Stryper contest before we have to disappoint too many people. Congratulations to all our winners who have been replied to under their comment. Here are the details. One the night of the show, go to the venue box office with proper ID and ask for the venue house list. Your name will be there and possibly have a PiercingMetal reference. Should you encounter any issues, politely ask for an onsite manager and cite how this contest was done in cooperation with Stage 48 Marketing and PiercingMetal; Doors are 6pm.

I have been a fan since the early days. Actually own their first album on white vinyl! Would love a chance to see the boys live for the first time ever!!
