Win A Ticket To See Scorpions and Megadeth at Madison Square Garden on 9/16/2017

The Details: As a comic book reader growing up there were two series that I loved and they were “Marvel Team-Up” and “Marvel Two-In-One” and essentially these were tales that took two great characters and united them for a single purpose. I thought of this when it came to the upcoming tour that features the legendary Scorpions and the mighty Megadeth as they plan to hit the awesome Madison Square Garden this Saturday. I have been listening to these two bands for as long as I can remember and was getting very excited about bringing a story and images to your attention soon after. Then I learned that thanks to the fine folks in the Marketing division of the LiveNation team that will be putting in some truly lucky fans into the show on the house. I am stoked because I think this amounts to our biggest bands to have given away tickets to yet. Check out the details on how to participate.

When and Where: Saturday, September 16th @ Madison Square Garden (NYC)

To Participate: This is NOT an easy one at all but still runs on the same premise as our other contests. I am sticking to the three things about the band that makes your fist pump high into the air and raise the love of the Metal in your very soul but for this one I am assigning some homework. Please give me “3” things that you like most about the bands and I mean each of them so “6” total points. There shouldn’t be any newbies to the music of Scorpions and Megadeth that’s for sure. Perhaps there are albums that “spoke” to you or concert appearances that sent you to the music shop to snag some of the band members earlier works. Just give me three solid answers for each and how important it is to be at this show. I know I make you work but I work here too so whining about the process will not win out at all LOL. Make this good reading because the stuff remains on the website and can likely inspire new fans as well on how our freebies work. Writing “because they slay dude” is just too un-original and boring. I’ll be responding to the comments that I like most right below their answer. Kindly review some guidelines before entering your submission. Extra credit is welcome of course if you’d like to laud the greatness of the other performers as well. We don’t have a lot of tickets for this one.

– Enter only enter once. The comments are moderated and will not appear immediately after submission.
– Number them for ease of knowing if you followed the instructions or not if I’ve asked for a list.
– Please enter your full real name in the comment form along with an email address that you can be reached at if you win. This is necessary for listing purposes. Please do NOT put this information in the comment itself out of privacy concerns.
– Only enter if you can and will attend the show should you win and it’s logistically possible for you to do so. Essentially if you live a couple of hundred miles away we don’t think you’re coming here for a show in NYC.
– Subscribe to the comments and check back to see the responses so you know if you won or not.
– Make sure you are entering a NEW comment and not replying to another contestant’s entry as that makes notifying you difficult should you be marked as a winner.

Please be aware that this is for a SINGLE TICKET ONLY and no plus ones or guest requests can or will be honored. No exceptions. Bring it on as this one will close by end of business Friday to be sure names get into the promoter. Plenty of tickets remain for those who do not win and wish to purchase. Those parties can do so via THIS LINK.

Restrictions: All PiercingMetal contests are open to our loyal readers and Social Network followers but that said we are still looking for the new names first. Don’t let that stop you from entering of course but we do keep track based on the overall demand for this stuff at this point. We want EVERYONE to have a chance to enjoy a show on the provider and PiercingMetal but if you just won a contest recently you will likely not have a chance for this one. Please note that Anonymous or Guest comments will not be approved and if you have won anything over the last two months you need not participate in this one since it’s only fair.

If You Win This Contest: If you are marked as one of the winners for this contest, here is how to claim the ticket. On the night of the show go to the venue box office at one of the WILL CALL windows and ask for the Livenation Guest List. Please bring proper identification (driver’s license, passport, NYC ID card) and your ticket will be given to you. If you encounter any difficulty, please politely ask for an onsite manager and cite how this contest was done in coordination with Promoter Marketing and PiercingMetal.com. Check the show listings that night so you arrive with plenty of time to get some merchandise and a snack before going to your seat. You can also expect an email to the provided address reminding you of the win so make sure that @piercingmetal.com is listed as a safe domain to receive notes from. Remember to invite your Metal Friends to “Like” the PiercingMetal Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Social Networks so more reach can be accomplished and these contests can continue to happen.

  1. 1. Dave Mustaine INVENTED thrash metal, and he still delivers just as good as he’s always done.

    2. Kiko Lauriero is one of the all-time guitar greats who plays the material from Megadeth’s earlier catalogs flawlessly, along with the Dystopia album that shows how proficient he is.

    3. Dirk Verburen is one of the best drummers in metal today. I’ve admired his playing in Soilwork for years, and Megadeth is not only a step up for him, but the rest of the band as well.

    1. The Scorpions are legenda with over 45 years in rock, they are true veterans of the stage and never disappoint live. I for one am glad they didn’t pack it in.

2.Mickey Dee is a monster drummer, who has brought greatness to King Diamond, Motorhead and now the Scorpions, it would be great to see what he brings to the current line up.

    3. The Scorpions have a way of making hard rock songs and ballads sound good just the same, since they put their hearts and soul into everything they do.

  2. Megadeth:
    1. One of my favorite shows last year was the secret ‘Vic and the Rattleheads’ show at Saint Vitus. It was incredible seeing a band of Megadeth’s magnitude in such a small venue.

    2. Their latest album Dystopia is still playing in my car. This album was a great return to form for them.

    3. Dave Mustaine pushed the envelope of guitar playing. Many bands wouldn’t exist today if it wasn’t for him.

    Scorpions:
    1. I’m very excited to see Mikkey Dee behind the kit again, and have no doubt he will show why Lemmy always introduced him as “The Best Drummer in the World.”

    2. Scorpions was one of the first bands I grew up with. It all started when a friend of mine loaned me a copy of Tokyo Tapes in the early 80s. That being said Tokyo Tapes is still one of the greatest live albums of all time to me.

    3. I haven’t seen Scorpion since 2010 at Jones Beach. I’m long overdue for my Scorpions fix.

    1. This will work out for the contest George so congratulations on winning one of our tickets to see Scorpions and Megadeth at NYC’s most legendary arena Madison Square Garden. Please refer to the part of the contest post marked “If You Win This Contest” for all of the necessary details on how you claim this.

  3. This month is a crazy crazy month its looking like i cant afford to see klaus and co tear up the garden
1 tokyo tapes is top 5 best live albums of all time
    2. Klaus still is one of the best frontmen even in his late 60s
    3. Hoping theres a chance for something randomly awesome like dave mustaine coming out for winds of change
    4. I haven’t had the opportunity to see megadeth in quite a few years which should be nice since they rebounded nicely from how abysmal super collider
5 only in new york doro, roger waters, danzig, overkill, inquisition, scorpions/ megadeth be in the same week
6 this random paring of awesomeness means this really is a crazy world

    1. Oh Max I hear you on the funds, wow how are we expected to get by with the Metal in this expensive city? Well, one way to get by is to say that you have won the last remaining ticket for the Scorpions and Megadeth show at MSG this Saturday. Please refer to the part of the contest post marked “If You Win This Contest” for all of the necessary details on how you claim this.

  4. Dave Mustaine is a thrash legend.
One of the founding members of Metallica.
    Yesterday was his birthday.

Love the Scorps. One of my favorite bands. Starting in the 70’s with both Schenker & Uli .Great stuff. Then during their commercial peak with a radio-friendly sound.Tokyo Tapes & Fly to the Rainbow, are just masterpieces, imho! Pioneers of heavy metal

  5. —Scorpions—
    1. I have had to skip out on almost every single concert since May because of school and this weekend is one of the first free weekends I have thanks to Rosh Hashanah.
    2. Growing up as a Russian there were like 4 bands I grew up with; ACDC, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and of course, Scorpions (Winds of Change anyone?).
    3. I wasn’t alive to see Scorpions in 1985, but considering the fact that my birthday is August 31st and that they were 150% better than any other band at the festival I’ve rewatched the video of it almost 50 times. Plus they opened with Coming Home, their best song.
    —Megadeth—
    1. Similar to Scorpions, I have a Megadeth dream concert; The Rude Awakening concert. No band is as mesmerizing as Megadeth, though I’m probably biased since my first metal concert was Megadeth back when I was 15.
    2. Dystopia was a top notch album and proved to me and everyone else that Megadeth is back, their sound is back and they are here to stay.
    3. Again, talking about albums, Megadeth is one of the few bands (aside from Manowar, Scorpions, Led Zeppelin, and Amon Amarth) that almost consistently release perfect albums, albums I can listen to for hours and hours on end.

    1. Whew that is some really interesting notations Benjamin, so congratulations on winning one of our tickets to see Scorpions and Megadeth at Madison Square Garden. 6. Okay here we go…
Scorpions damn I Love this band! Never forget my buddy getting tix to the Rock me like a hurricane show, picked me up in a sweet limo, said “Wolf, we gotta make a stop at the airport to pick up some friends ” . Next thing I know Klaus Meine jumps in followed by Rudy and the rest of the band! Awesome trip, Awesome show, Awesome guys! That’s still one of my favorite all time shows!
The Zoo reminds me of Too many good times (winkwink)
Been following the band for 30 odd years love a chance to see them one more time!
    Now to Megadeath…. hmmmm.
Honestly not a big fan, dust up btwn Mustane and a bud over a chick at L’amours kinda sets that mood LOL! He got ejected and was Not happy LOL !
Couple of songs I can tolerate but for me its all about the Scorpions!

  7. Scorpions

    1. “The Best is Yet to Come” off of the 2010 album “Sting in the Tail” was the first dance song for me and my wife at our wedding, so I’d say I’m a big fan!

    2. Rudolf and Klaus, 2 guys who have been doing this at the highest level since the ’60s, and still going strong. I saw their “retirement tour” in 2010 and I guess that didn’t stick, but you never know how much longer they’ll keep going, so I want to see every show I can.

    3. I really want to see Mikkey Dee with them on drums for the first time. I’m a huge fan of his drum solos from all the times I saw him with Motorhead and I’m excited to see what he can add to the Scorpions.

    Megadeth

    1. In Megadeth’s revolving door of personnel, I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews for Kiko and I’d really like to see him play live (before Mustaine fires him). From what I’ve heard from him, he’s a damn good guitarist. Not Marty Friedman, but still very good.

    2. Other than Metallica (which barely counts because they’re so mainstream), Megadeth was my gateway drug to thrash and getting into bands like Kreator, Dark Angel, and Overkill. For opening that door, they’ll always have a special place in my heart.

    3. I type this 6 years to the day that I saw The Big Four perform at Yankee Stadium, so hopefully that bodes well. What an amazing show that was, one of my all-time favorite concerts.

And just an overall note, I feel like most people are either fans of one or the other, but my musical tastes are pretty diverse and I’ve loved both these bands since I was 12 so it would be very cool to see them playing together.

    1. That’s some really great stuff Steven so congratulations on winning one of our tickets to see Scorpions and Megadeth at Madison Square Garden. Please refer to the part of the contest post marked “If You Win This Contest” for all of the necessary details on how you claim this.

  8. Okay my friends let’s close this one up since the promoters must have the names by 1pm the latest. Congratulations to all of our winners who were each notified directly below their submission. Thank you to all who participated in this one, we wish we could give everyone tickets. The winners need to refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” for the full details since its all lined out there. We will be covering the concert for the website as well but don’t think we will see anyone since its so big a place. Yell hello if you see us for sure.
