Spring has sprung my friends and the tour announcements and awesome regional gigs have stepped into high gear. One of the awesome shows on the docket is the appearance of the legendary guitarist Ace Frehley over at the Sony Hall.
The Details: Now I don’t really think that I need to tell you much about the great Ace Frehley but if you have just arrived from another planet or have been on a secret mission in the Hollow Earth let me point out that he was a founding member of the legendary KISS and for the last couple of decades has been serving up music in a vibrant solo career. I’m sure everyone has his 1978 solo album which is a bit of a masterpiece to me and now he is out supporting his latest effort “10,000 Volts”. His shows will excite both the real guitarists and the air ones from start to finish and now thanks to the fine folks in the Marketing Department of the Blue Note Entertainment Group, PiercingMetal will be giving away a few tickets to his upcoming show at Sony Hall.
When and Where: Thursday, March 28th at Sony Hall (235 W 46th St, New York, NY 10036) at 7:30PM.
To Participate: To my knowledge, this is the first time that I am doing a ticket giveaway for Ace Frehley at the Sony Hall but don’t worry I won’t make the things you need to do any harder than I usually do. I’m going to stick with my “3” angle and say please chime in with your “Top 3” Ace Frehley albums. They can be with his Frehley’s Comet endeavor and the ones over the last decade from MNRK Heavy. For each of your picks I’m going to want a couple of sentences on why this album speaks to you. As a bonus question, please share with me your Top 5 Ace Frehley tracks from his time in KISS. No finer details required, just the title of the tunes. This is a really easy section for sure. Remember that we aim for that more is more ideal and we scrutinize each entry. Now before you get started please review some important guidelines on this to make it easier.
Guidelines:
* Enter only once. All comments are moderated and don’t appear immediately after submission so be patient and don’t enter numerous times. You should see “your comment is awaiting moderation” once you submit it. It will appear once approved. It’s important to make sure you that you are entering a NEW comment and not replying to another contestant’s entry as that will get confusing.
* Number the requirements for ease of knowing if you followed the instructions or not.
* The entry should be a good read, so a sentence or two of facts that make up your required three items. Saying “because it rules dude” will not impress me and not help your cause.
* Please enter your full real name in the comment form along with an email address that you can be reached at if you win. This is super important because we might also be sending you a confirmation email and sharing with the house in case they have last minute audience updates. We stress that you do NOT place this information in the comment itself out of privacy concerns.
* Please only enter if you really have interest in attending and its possible for you to do so. As this is a NYC performance, if you live a couple of hundred miles away we don’t think you should be entering.
* Subscribe to the comments and check back to see them so you know if you won or not.
* Its recommended that you compose your entry on a text editor and then paste it into the comment form so you don’t lose any work. We’ve learned that sometimes a mobile feed is tricky so be sure to have a strong signal or use a laptop when doing this.
Get to work because this one will close by Wednesday EOB on 3/27/2024 unless the provisions are depleted before that time.
Restrictions: The PiercingMetal Giveaways are open to our regional site visitors and Social Networking Followers (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube) and we always look for submissions from those who might not have won in the past. Please know that your name will be on the guest list and as result there are NO physical tickets to claim on site. This giveaway is for a SINGLE TICKET only with no exceptions. If you are not yet following PiercingMetal on any of our Social Media accounts you can resolve that via our Linktree which is available HERE.
If You Win This Giveaway: If you are marked as one of the winners for this giveaway, I will be leaving a comment directly below yours informing you about the win. I will also be sharing the information you will need should you encounter any issues on your arrival to the venue. You can also expect an email to the provided address reminding you of the win so make sure that @piercingmetal.com is listed as a safe domain to receive notes from. Just in case, the claiming details are that the winners of the giveaway will go to the podium at the venue entrance and ask for the “House Guest List”. Your name will be there and if you run into any difficulty, politely ask for a House Manager and explain that this giveaway comes care of the Blue Note Entertainment Marketing Team and PiercingMetal. Remember this is a single ticket only with no plus one and there are no exceptions to this rule. We ask that if you post on social media about your attending the show that you shout out our outlet so more are directed to what we are going for the scene.

Top 3” Ace Frehley albums:
1. Frehley’s Comet: So many great songs, it’s my #1. I love Into The Night and Rock Soldiers. I didn’t have a Delorean or do the crazy things Ace did, but can relate to doing stupid things in my youth.
2. Ace Frehley (1978 album). New York Groove, Rip It Out, and Fractured Mirror. Need I say more? I will because of the contest rules, haha! NYG is an iconic song and always puts me in a good mood. I’m a fan of Anton Fig and since he’s on this album it’s #2. I know he was also on Frehley’s Comet.
3. Trouble Walking: Trouble Walking and Hide Your Heart are my two favorite songs on that album. I have great memories hanging with friends listening to this album. And yes, Anton Fig was on this album too.

My top 3 Ace Frehley albums are as follows:
1. Frehley’s Comet- This album brings me back to when I spent my early concert days at L’amour the rock capital of Brooklyn. Songs like Breakout, Rock Soldiers, and Stranger in a Strange Land remind me of the good times. And yes Ace had my rock right here with this album.
