Spring is not quite here yet and the weather outside can prove that since its rather chilly in our NYC today but warmer days are straight ahead. To help us launch into the upcoming season I’m going to get you all Rock-excited with an awesome show by the legendary guitarist Ace Frehley who will be performing over at the Sony Hall in the coming days.

The Details: So I don’t really think that I need to tell you much about the great Ace Frehley but if you have just arrived from another planet or have been on a secret mission in the Hollow Earth let me point out that he was a founding member of the legendary KISS and for the last couple of decades has been serving up music of his own in a vibrant solo career. It’s a safe bet that everyone has his 1978 solo album which is a bit of a masterpiece to me and now he is out there continuing to support his most recent album “10,000 Volts”. His shows will excite both the real guitarists and the air ones from start to finish and now thanks to the fine folks in the Marketing Department of the Blue Note Entertainment Group, PiercingMetal will be giving away a few tickets to his upcoming show at Sony Hall.

When and Where: Thursday, March 13th at Sony Hall (235 W 46th St, New York, NY 10036) at 7:30PM.

To Participate: This is the second time that I am doing a ticket giveaway for Ace Frehley at the Sony Hall but don’t worry I won’t make the things you need to do any harder than I usually do. I’m going to stick with my “3” angle and say please chime in with your “Top 3” Ace Frehley albums. They can be with his Frehley’s Comet endeavor and the ones over the last decade from MNRK Heavy. To guarantee your working on this, you MAY NOT include the self-titled 1978 album because its a masterpiece and everyone knows that. For each of your picks I’m going to want a couple of sentences on why this album speaks to you. Part two is asking if you’ve ever seen Ace in concert before and what do you like about it all. Be thorough and ass a bonus question, please share with me your Top 5 Ace Frehley tracks from his time in KISS. No finer details required, just the title of the tunes unless you want to of course. This is a really easy section for sure. Remember that we aim for that more is more ideal and we scrutinize each entry. Now before you get started please review some important guidelines on this to make it easier.

* Enter only once. All comments are moderated and don’t appear immediately after submission so be patient and don’t enter numerous times. You should see “your comment is awaiting moderation” once you submit it. It will appear once approved. It’s important to make sure you that you are entering a NEW comment and not replying to another contestant’s entry as that will get confusing.
* Number the requirements for ease of knowing if you followed the instructions or not.
* The entry should be a good read, so a sentence or two of facts that make up your required three items. Saying “because it rules dude” will not impress me and not help your cause.
* Please enter your full real name in the comment form along with an email address that you can be reached at if you win. This is super important because we might also be sending you a confirmation email and sharing with the house in case they have last minute audience updates. We stress that you do NOT place this information in the comment itself out of privacy concerns.
* Please only enter if you really have interest in attending the show and that its possible for you to do so. As this is a NYC performance, if you live a couple of hundred miles away we don’t think you should be entering.
* Subscribe to the comments and check back to see them so you know if you won or not.
* Its recommended that you compose your entry on a text editor and then paste it into the comment form so you don’t lose any work. We’ve learned that sometimes a mobile feed is tricky so be sure to have a strong signal or use a laptop when doing this.

Get to work because this one will close by Wednesday EOB on 3/12/2025 unless the provisions are depleted before that time.

Restrictions: The PiercingMetal Giveaways are open to our regional site visitors and Social Networking Followers (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube) and we always look for submissions from those who might not have won in the past. Please know that your name will be on the guest list and as result there are NO physical tickets to claim on site. This giveaway is for a SINGLE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET only with no exceptions. Should you require anything in addition to this it will be OOP for you. If you are not yet following PiercingMetal on any of our Social Media accounts you can resolve that via our Linktree which is available HERE.

If You Win This Giveaway: If you are marked as one of the winners for this giveaway, I will be leaving a comment directly below yours informing you about the win. I will also be sharing the information you will need should you encounter any issues on your arrival to the venue. You can also expect an email to the provided address reminding you of the win so make sure that @piercingmetal.com is listed as a safe domain to receive notes from. Just in case, the claiming details are that the winners of the giveaway will go to the podium at the venue entrance and ask for the “House Guest List”. Your name will be there and if you run into any difficulty, politely ask for a House Manager and explain that this giveaway comes care of the Blue Note Entertainment Marketing Team and PiercingMetal. Remember this is a single ticket only with no plus one and there are no exceptions to this rule. We ask that if you post on social media about your attending the show that you shout out our outlet so more are directed to what we are going for the scene.

  1. My top 3 Ace Frehley albums (excluding 1978 solo) are:
3- Anomaly What was his first solo album In 20 yrs didn’t disappoint. Heavy and Raw with Outer Space the solo on that is one of his and my personal favorite Sister
2- Trouble Walking His first Solo album after Frehley Coment. Return to a more raw sound less polished than coment. Great songs like Shot Full of Rock and Lost in Limbo with Peter Criss on Background vocals
3 Frehley Coment 1987 debut. Very 1980s sounding with some keyboard but it works with the contrast of Aces Vocals and Tod Howard’s high octaves. Always loved Into the Night

I have seen Ace a few times always liked the raw sound and spontaneous performance. His band with Ryan Cook and Scott Coogan are top notch. Always good mix of Kiss and Ace solo songs

Top 5 Ace Frehley KISS songs

    5 INTO THE VOID
    4 ROCKET RIDE
    3 SHOCK ME
    2 2000 MAN
    1 DARK LIGHT

    1. Great stuff Rob, and while we recall you recently enjoyed Vandenberg on us, we had limited response to this performance and are happy to give you a ticket. Remember that all details are listed in the “If You Win This Giveaway” section.

  2. Top 3 Ace Frehley albums:
Frehley’s Comet: this is my favorite album next to that album that we can’t mention. Rock Soldiers, Breakout, Into The Night, Dolls (yes, Dolls), and other great songs on the FC album. These songs bring back fond memories.

Trouble Walking: I would sing “I have trouble walking” as a joke when I had a bit too much to drink back in the day, lol. This album has Do Ya, Hide Your Heart, Shot Full of Rock, and of course Trouble Walking. Good solid album.

10,000 Volts: I included this one because I wanted to give props to Ace writing and performing newer songs. I like the title track a lot. I hope he plays it tomorrow at Sony Hall.

I’ve seen Ace Frehley at many venues over the years, the last time being Sony Hall – great show BTW. Ace always puts on a good show and tells some funny stories.

Top 5 Ace Frehley tracks from his time in KISS:

  3. 1. Frehley’s Comet-This album is still in rotation on my playlists. A solid album that brings me back to when Ace would play L’amour and other local clubs in the area.
    2. Trouble Walkin’- The album starts rockin’ hard with “Shot Full of Rock” and never stops! Guest performances from member of Skid Row and Peter Criss is a good addition to the album.
    3. 10,000 Volts- The newest of his albums and Ace proves that he can still rock.

    2. Spaceman – Ace and Gene together again
    3. 10000 Volts – proof that he can still rock
