The 2019 film “Joker” found actor Joaquin Phoenix donning the facepaint of the Clown Prince of Crime but instead of the character we all know and love in the comics, television series and the first serious “Batman” movie he was more of a mentally distressed individual as opposed to one focused on anarchy and living life in chaos. This will surely be changed as with the film receiving two Academy Awards and I believe a Golden Globe as well, a sequel is coming and its one that also introduces us to one Harley Quinn. Lady GaGa will be handling that aspect in the film and the first teaser trailer has recently surfaced. I submit this below for your enjoyment and will add some closing thoughts afterwards.

The Premise: Other than the fact that this is a sequel to “Joker”, there is no plot or storyline revealed at the time of this teaser trailer.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I might have pointed out in my assorted summaries about the first film, that I didn’t really like a Joker that came to pass before there was a Batman but as the producers and writers stated this takes place in another non-connected to the now sunset DC Extended Universe of films. I enjoyed the film and took it for what it was but didn’t end up seeing it once again and as already mentioned up above, with the awards and accolades that it got a sequel was surely to be greenlit. As they take multiple liberties with Harley Quinn as well from what I can see I am not sure that I will be interested in this one all that much. There was a lot of chatter that it would be a musical and if that proves to be true that will make this a much catch on one of the streaming networks whenever I get around to it. Maybe I am just being too hard on the film, but I wasn’t happy with the ending of the DCEU since it had some highlights amidst its lows and just needed to be molded into something better. Not relaunched and restarted from scratch by James Gunn, whose work I do enjoy. Sorry for breaking my creed of limited banter on a teaser trailer but I had much on my mind with this one. I will watch out for the full Official Trailer and then likely will better determine how that hits me.
