The younger generation might not remember this but back in the year 1986, the late great Ronnie James Dio assembled some of the most amazing Heavy Metal names for a hunger relief music project called “Hear N Aid”. The bold track was a stark contrast to the previously released UK relief song “Do They Know It’s Christmas” and the US Based “We Are The World”. It shocked the entertainment industry like a bolt of lighting and had a pretty cool video of everyone singing and all the incredible guitar solos. This clip was done under the guidance of singer/instructor Mary Zimmer and recorded at this past years NAMM show. Let’s check it out and then you can learn more about it from their exact words.

About The Clip: Back when we filmed this video, we had no idea how bittersweet it would be just a few months later. This was the last time most of the people in this video were together in one place at a large music event before Covid-19. Filmed and Recorded at NAMM 2020! Right there on the show floor! This Hear ‘N Aid/Dio tribute/cover is a metal version of the song featuring clean and harsh vocals by a bunch of guest metal vocalists! Also this is the first time I’ve been able to introduce you all to the Voicehacks Metal Choir! PiercingMetal Thoughts: Very simply put “I loved this”. Well done everyone, you are all to be commended for the fine job of this mind-blowing cover. It was great to find this being posted so close to the 10th Anniversary of Ronnie James Dio’s passing. Speaking for me, since I didn’t have much background on a number of the included musicians, I found that this made me more curious about them and has me making notes on their respective bands to look into them in the future for that never ending battle of music journalism that one must continually fight to bring the readers the best in entertainment. Sorry, its pretty late and I am spent but once I saw this I wanted to get it online for you right quick. A lot has changed in the world since they recorded this track only a few short months ago but I am rather hopeful that we will come out of this eventually. Please stay smart and healthy my friends. Until next we meet.
