When I was getting myself into the Heavy Metal sound more and more I have to admit that I didn’t really follow the music of Venom at all. It took quite a few years for me as a listener to the sonic sounds that wreck our eardrums to better appreciate their influence. A few months ago I caught the band Venom Inc. which is essentially Venom without Cronos and it was great. Now the band is heading back with a second leg for their tour and the poster, press release and dates are below for your consumption.
The Press Release:
UK-based metallers, VENOM INC., will kick off the second leg of their North American tour next month. The latest march will run from May 31st in Brooklyn, New York through July 2nd in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Support will again be provided by long-running American death metal behemoths Necrophagia. The trek follows the band’s recent and successful stomp through North America this past January.
VENOM INC. features original Venom members guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn and drummer Anthony “Abaddon” Bray with former Venom bassist/vocalist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan. The band made their live debut as VENOM INC. in April 2015 at the Keep It True Festival in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany, performing a full set of Venom classics and played to over 30,000 people at Heavy Montreal last August. Dolan and Dunn have spent the last few years collaborating in M:Pire Of Evil, who released their latest full-length, Crucified, in May 2013. VENOM INC. took to the streets early last Fall on the lengthy Iron And Steel European Tour before closing the year with a Latin American live infiltration. The band returned to the streets of North America last January to the frenzied praise and fans and critics alike.
In a review of their New York City performance, Cryptic Rock hailed, “A solid offering of killer Venom classics,” further noting, “many fans did not want the evening to come to an end. Sometimes bands splitting up into two separate names can be confusing to their followers. Nonetheless, VENOM INC. are doing a great job of making it clear who they are as they educated fans who are loving every minute of what they are coming to learn.” Agreed Now Toronto, “Kicking off with ‘Prime Evil,’ the title track from the first of three late ’80s/early ’90s albums on which Demolition Man sang after Cronos temporarily left the band, the English metalheads quickly got fists raised and a pit on the verge of erupting. While speedy classics… like ‘Die Hard,’ ‘Don’t Burn The Witch.’ and, for the final song of the encore, ‘Black Metal’ ensured no one left disappointed, it was the sludgier ‘1000 Days In Sodom’ and ‘At War With Satan’ that packed the unholiest sonic punches.” Brave Words championed a, “great night of old school classics,” and a performance that was nothing short of, “highly entertaining.” While Lithium Magazine gushed, “Yes, Chronos has the long-standing good fortune of being the original Venom vocalist, and zealots will say if he’s not in the band it’s not Venom. I disagree. Hearing ‘Prime Evil,’ ‘Live Like An Angel (Die Like A Devil),’ and ‘Buried Alive’ this evening managed to raise the hairs on the back of neck quite easily. The tightly packed crowd writhed in appropriate fashion for every one of these classic Venom songs, while Mantas, Anthony and Tony howled and snarled their way through like the consummate players they are… For $25 you couldn’t really go wrong with this show.” Added Metal Wani, “In all honesty, a tour like this doesn’t hit the states too often. Not only do you get to see the pioneers of everything speed/black metal, but supporting them are pioneers of death metal… a truly legendary lineup that can’t be missed! If this tour is coming to or near your city, get out and witness the best of the best tear it up.”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As I noted above, I caught this band earlier in the year and I really enjoyed g myself I have to stress that if you are a fan of the songs of Venom that you must check out one of the shows if they are coming to your region. My beloved Brooklyn is getting two shows with appearances at Saint Vitus Bar so this part of the run doesn’t have an excuse on missing out. I’d like to check them out again but am not sure that I can do it this time around. Maybe when they announce a third leg. So what do you readers think of this tour? Will you be attending? Let me know in the comments section.
