Tool kicked off their North American tour on Sunday night, performing at the Sacramento-based Aftershock Festival, where the Los Angeles-based band performed “Fear Inoculum” for the first time. The sold out trek continues tomorrow night in Denver, as the band plays two shows at the Pepsi Center.

“Fear Inoculum” (http://smarturl.it/TOOLFIa) arrived on Aug. 30 following years of anticipation. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 and earned heaps of critical praise with NPR saying, “Fear Inoculum was worth the 13 year wait”, Revolver proclaiming the 10-track album “a masterpiece to be dissected for years to come” and Consequence of Sound saying the release finds “Tool in peak performance.”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I gave a comprehensive overview to the track in a narrative you can examine HERE and while I was not one of the most ardent of the bands following, am really excited to hear the rest of it. I am also hoping to catch either the Prudential Center or Barclays Center performance since its been more than 20 years since I’ve seen the band in action. What do you think of this news and how excited are you for more from Tool? Chime in down below in the comments section and I will see you next time around.
