It would seem that the truth is still out there and if you still want to believe that there is a larger force at hand in many of the worlds brewings and doings then isn’t it awesome that Agents Mulder and Scully are back at the task on The X-Files. Believe it or not my friends, the exciting Fox television series is returning to broadcast television for a six-part mini-series. Below is the poster, a vague premise and the cast so check it out and then I’ll return to discuss.
The Premise: The X-Files miniseries is an upcoming continuation of the American science fiction horror drama television series The X-Files, created by Chris Carter, which originally aired for nine seasons from 1993 to 2002 on Fox. On March 24, 2015, Fox announced the series would return for a six-episode miniseries. (okay so not really the most helpful of show premise descriptions but oh well).

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I loved this show. Love, love, loved this show and tuned in every single week to be sure to see it and after missing a few episodes worth started my VHS archiving of them for posterity on high quality Maxell tapes. Yes I know that is not considered acceptable in today’s world but I digress. I’m now proud owner of the entire series on DVD boxed sets and sometimes I do the whole binge watching thing when I feel like swapping disc after disc out. Wow, the luxury of streaming sure has made us lazy hasn’t it. Since they didn’t give us much of a premise for the show I am hoping that this will be a ride that brings us back to the days when this was one of the most tuned into programs by the fans of this sort of thing and the curious as well. My plan is to DVR the entire mini-series and watch as one big event. Hopefully no one will be bothering in spoiling it on my Facebook feed and will be instead counting down to the next “The Walking Dead” stuff. I did enjoy this show though and even when Duchovny quit and was replaced by Robert Patrick. Since I didn’t see his name on the mini-series cast rundown I will assume that they have left his John Doggett out of the tale. That’s alright, he currently does a fine job on the show “Scorpion” which I recommend if you have not seen it. Anyway, let me close up by asking the general public if they are excited about this show as well. Are you? Let me know in the comments as I always enjoy hearing from you.

A long time has passed since I first recorded these shows onto blank tapes. Now you can own them on high quality Blu-rays and I’ve embedded links to all of the seasons below. If you dig around you will even find the first go round DVD sets for a lot cheaper.
