Tonight: “Preacher” Season 2 Series Premiere on AMC (6/25/2017)

Hello again my serial television loving readers, so it was just about three weeks ago that I shared the full trailer for the “Preacher” series second season and if you missed it, just click on THIS LINK to catch up with us. Okay you’re back. So the series got a green light on the new season as you know and the show will begin tonight with a special premiere before heading over to Monday nights. Don’t forget to program your DVR or dust off the old VCR and find a couple of tapes.

The Premise: “Preacher” is an adaptation of the intense comic book series that was done by Steve Dillon and Garth Ennis. It ran as a part of the DC Comics Vertigo imprint for “75” total issues. The show does NOT follow the general canon of the printed page.

Main Cast/Characters:
Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer
Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy
Ruth Negga as Tulip O’Hare
Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow
W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Hugo Root
Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenck
Ian Colletti as Eugene Root/”Arseface”
Tom Brooke as Fiore
Anatol Yusef as DeBlanc
Graham McTavish as The Saint of Killers
Noah Taylor
Pip Torrens
Julie Ann Emery

Oh hey here are the rest of the character posters that were released a few weeks ago. I decided to save them for this show announcement post.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Okay so I didn’t really enjoy the first season since it was too far off from the canon that I read in the gripping “Preacher” comic series. As result I am not sure that I am going to give the second season a go. I will likely do a program on the DVR and see if its impressed me after a few episodes before I decide whether or not to invest any time in it. Did you readers watch the show? Did you like it? What did I miss that it didn’t do it for me in your opinion? Was I being too much of a purist? Let me know what you think of the show so far and if you will be watching the second season. Should I give this another chance? Let me know in the comments section below.
