I’m excited again and this should not surprise any of you readers when you realize that I am a comic book and superhero geek. Last night The CW Network gave us the brand new series for “The Flash” but tonight its the Season 3 premiere for “Arrow”, the show that gave us an introduction to that new show in the first place. Check out the promotional poster below and some basic premise stuff then we can talk a little more.
The Premise: Season Two was a thrill ride in my opinion and pitted Arrow against the likes of Brother Blood and Deathstroke; found him working alongside The Suicide Squad and Amanda Waller and doing his best to guide his protege Roy Harper while keeping the Black Canary from killing anyone. Every episode interested me and while it left the city safe for the time being I am sure that there is more darkness ahead for the vigilante to protect them from. The tagline for Season 3 is “Saving A City Takes Its Toll” so its also likely that no one is safe outside of our main character. Check out the cast below care of Wikipedia.

Stephen Amell portrays Oliver Queen/Arrow

PiercingMetal Thoughts: My good friend Pete over at Sea Of Tranquility had told me to watch “Arrow” from the first few episodes of the first season but with no real On Demand means on The CW Network this was impossible until it was added to Netflix. I caught up and enjoyed it enough to merit my trying to get in gear with the second season. Time found me missing them all and waiting for the re-runs which ran sequentially and hooked me in from beginning to end and found me prepping the DVR for S3. Suffice to say I am really looking forward to this third season to see how they will expand the DC Television Universe and to see if I catch any other little “Easter Egg” mentions like the ones that I chanced upon in S2 (did you viewers catch anything interesting?). They’ve already announced that Brandon Routh will be joining in and this former Superman actor will be handling a “small” part in some sense. I also am looking forward to seeing Roy develop more into a hero and hopefully find The Canary back in action again. As far as Deathstroke is concerned, he is too nasty a baddie to be locked up for too long and let’s get more of that Suicide Squad happening. The downside is that this show and the recently premiered “The Flash” series will NOT tie into any of the DC Cinematic Universe works but so be it. They are doing good so far on these shows and if they keep the quality up I am not bothered by that decision. Perhaps they didn’t want to follow in Marvel’s footsteps who let their television show “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” have some direct connections to the films. It could have made sense but I am not on the planning committee for that stuff. Alright, let’s close this one up with the question “Will you be watching Arrow this season or have you ever even given it a chance?” I will leave the comments open for your submissions.
