The Premise/Recap:
In season four, Oliver becomes “Green Arrow”. He and his allies fight against the terrorist organization H.I.V.E., headed by the mystically enhanced Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), who is attacking Star City (formerly Starling City). Over the season, John Diggle discovers that his brother Andy (Eugene Byrd) is alive and a H.I.V.E. soldier; Thea works alongside Oliver under the alias “Speedy”, but struggles to control the blood-lust left with her following her resurrection; and learning of Thea’s encounter with the Lazarus Pit, Laurel struggles to bring back her sister Sara by the same method. Oliver’s life as Green Arrow and his his relationship with Felicity are complicated by his mayoral run and the revelation that he is father to a nine-year-old son. Oliver ultimately discovers that Damien plans on detonating nuclear weapons and ruling a new world over the Earth’s ashes. In flashbacks, Oliver returns to Lian Yu to infiltrate the organization known as Shadowspire on behalf of Amanda Waller, and has his first encounter with the mystical idol used by Darhk in the present-day narrative. PiercingMetal Thoughts: “Dear ARROW creative team – You’re losing me slowly and I’m afraid that unless the storyline gets a faster pace and better character (ie more DC Universe implementation like “The Flash” and “Supergirl” do) you will be finding me cancelling the programming on the DVR and most likely no longer even announcing that a new season has begun”. Okay now that I got that out of my system I can continue. As you can tell I am not loving “Arrow” these days and have felt that the pacing was just too slow and somber and even made some changes that I would never have offered up in defense of continuity. I am glad that he finally calls himself The Green Arrow but the show needs something and whether that is the introduction of more DC Universe characters or a faster, more interesting storyline I am ready to wrap up my own interests in it and focus on “The Flash”, “Supergirl” and even the waivering “Legends Of Tomorrow”. I feel that the character of Mister Terrific is being wasted but it looks like we shall see The Vigilante on the show based on his secret identity being listed in the cast for the season. Please CW Network, do NOT mess with the look that this character had in the comics. Oh yeah and while I have some names in the casting above that are no longer on the show, I left them there since they might appear in flashbacks or be referenced and I wanted you on point. That is all I have to say on this one even though I do think that Amell does an outstanding job in his roles. What do you readers think of the show? Have you been watching since the beginning or only just began? Am I wrong here about some of the criticisms? Let me know in the comments section below.

Update: When I went back to this entry after a few episodes to add some new players to the cast I felt I should add more notes and say that this season has begun on a high note. The introduction of Wild Dog, more use of Curtis Holt and wow Ragman, who ever thought we would see him anywhere, have piqued my interest. Then I saw a listing for Christopher Chance (who most DC Comics readers know as The Human Target) I think this one could turn it all around. This is a super-hero show after all so let’s keep to the premise. Alright, I am outta here.
