Though the Summertime Blues haven’t quite hit us, the time has come to start sharing the announcements of the tours that will bring us into the Fall and what better one to start with than the mighty “Metal Alliance Tour”. Check out this years poster, dates and official press release. I’ll close it all up with some thoughts afterwards. Let’s go.
Fear The Riff Expo the nation’s premier gathering of boutique effects pedals and guitar gear in NYC proudly presents the 2017 Metal Alliance Tour. Each year this touring festival assembles a package that celebrates the various genres of Metal. We are very proud to announce New Jersey thrash metal legends OVERKILL, the undisputed titans of thrash metal as this year’s headliner.
Sharing the stage each night and crushing skulls on the Metal Alliance Tour will be New Orleans native doom/sludge band CROWBAR, Colorado thrash metal stalwarts HAVOK, technical thrash metal band BLACK FAST and INVIDIA featuring former members of SKINLAB.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: This years tour is going to be one helluva way to get us passed the Labor Day Blues for sure and having seen them over a dozen times in my life as scribe and beforehand, I can say that Irving Plaza is going to want to check the integrity of their foundation after the assault that Overkill is going to lay down that evening when this run hits our Big Metal Apple. I’ve seen most of the Metal Alliance Tour happenings and think that my favorites so far are the ones that featured Anthrax and Behemoth as their headliners. Those shows were something else and they took me at least a week to recover from after the onslaught that surrounded me. I’m psyched to find Overkill being the main attraction on this one and think that fans who have never before seen the band get on point. Crowbar is certainly no joke up on the boards and I think that Havok and Black Fast will start things off properly. I’m at a loss as far as Invidia is concerned but since I catch every band on a bill like this will get my education upon arrival. I’m glad that they are sticking to “5” bands because anything more would take away from other bands set lengths and we are going to want maximum Overkill and Crowbar when it all comes down to it.
