This Just In: “2015 Metal Alliance Tour Is Cancelled, Deicide Continues With Headlining Run”

Wanted to get this news out to you fine Metal Legions that might already have tickets for this tour but the event known as the 2015 run of “Metal Alliance Tour” has been cancelled. This tour featured a headlining Deicide with support from Entombed AD, Hate Eternal, Svart Crowne and Black Crown Initiate. That is the bad news. The good news is that Deicide will continue on with the remaining dates as a headliner with Hate Eternal, Black Crown Initiate, Lorna Shore and Svart Crowne. Entombed AD is no longer appearing on this run of remaining dates. I’ve posted the updated tour poster and the official press email that I just received below so check it out.

From his anti-god lyrics and Satanist labeling, Glen Benton has managed to lead DEICIDE through 11 albums over the past 25 years, and they have been a staple death metal band from the early years of the genre. Their latest album, In The Minds Of Evil, came out in late 2013 via Century Media to critical acclaim. PiercingMetal Thoughts: It always sucks to hear that financial troubles are the case and the cause of tour cancellations and it generally fires me up as a supporter of numerous shows across the Big Metal Apple. I saw this because there have been too many times have I seen incredible shows playing to skimpy crowds or to fans that only arrive for the headlining act. I’m making a guess that the ticket sales for this years Metal Alliance were not so good and that also helped lead to the cancellation. Fans that bypassed this years event and felt they could catch it on the next go round should be aware that sometimes this kind of traumatic financial circumstance leads promoters to put their money into other things as opposed to wasting a large amount of money on a fully stocked and interesting tour. This kills the scene my friends so get thee out there and support shows and get there early enough to see the lead off bands. That is an order (but a nice one). Let me know what you think about this change in the way that this event will be happening in the comments. So far I am not attending based on my personal scheduling but if something shifts in that you know where to find me, at The Gramercy Theatre on June 18th.
