Well, almost time that is…….
The big moment is just around the proverbial corner and I am pretty confident that I speak for a majority of the worlds comic book fans when I say just how exciting that is. Ladies and gents, fan boys and girls of all ages “The Avengers” movie opens in four short days!!!! For the past couple of years this film has been hinted at and was in a sense being led up to as we enjoyed The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 1 & 2, Thor, and Captain America The First Avenger. At the end of each of those films you might recall seeing an additional two minute sequence that tied the characters worlds together (and if you didn’t I suggest renting them and zipping to the end of the credits so you can catch up with the rest of us). Putting all of these mighty Marvel Comics characters together was a great idea and something that I think has been long anticipated by the fans. The trailers look awesome and its probably the movie that I am looking forward to the most out of the upcoming other hero movies.
While I have added the official link to the movies website, I have also made sure to embed the trailer HERE for you as well in case you don’t feel like leaving the website right now. Trust me I do not mind you sticking around with us for a little while longer.
Oh and before you ask, yes the film is called “Avengers Assemble” in the UK and that was the only updated trailer that I could actually embed here. Here in the USA its just called “The Avengers” and the movie has been written and directed by the great Joss Whedon and will feature a cast of players who are all familiar to those who have seen the other Superhero movies. We have Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Incredible Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Mighty Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.). As you can see by the photos below, there are already a heaping supply of action figures to start collecting and they look awesome.

Sorry for the rather limited image, but I used my phone and forgot to set the flash on it. I was in a hurry, but you get the general idea. There are even masks and helmets to let you cosplay the teams adventures in your spare time or have a very interesting day at the office.

I should note that I have been a card carrying member of the Avengers super, duper, extremely limited activity reservists for some years. I obtained this card when Clinton was President. I realize that I didn’t sign it or add a photo but that was because I was never actually called into action of any kind.
Since I trust you readers of the PiercingMetal site, I felt I could show you my Identicard.
Even though the story that we are getting in the new movie looks exciting, we should never forget how this team started out, and please if you have a few extra dollars to spend, you can order the trade paperback of the first ten issues. Believe me its cheaper than buying the real editions since they came out in 1963 some forty nine years ago.
