The guys in the Black Veil Brides have really been keeping their fans excited about the looming arrival of the album “Vale” as we arrive at the fourth and I imagine final single from the album. The song is called “The Last One” so one would assume this to be the final “taste” of the new work until it hits the shelves in your local brick and mortar shop and the online retailers. Having discussed the previous singles “The Outsider”, “My Vow” and “When They Call My Name” over the last few months I figured why not keep the process going and share what I thought about “The Last One”.
This track comes out at a time when we now know the full rundown of songs from the new album and the funny thing about “The Last One” is that it’s actually the first proper track on the release. It starts off slow and solemn but picks up when the vocals being and with this one we find Andy singing an almost reflective narrative about what’s come before this time. The chorus is a very sound singalong one and the kind that I’ve come to appreciate in this band. I was singing along after the first time they do it and in my musical minds eye could envision the fans jumping up and down in place as Biersack rallies them to do so. The rhythm of Coma and Purdy is locked in tight while the twin lead guitar attack is commendable. At this point in time Jake and Jinxx are synced perfectly. I liked this one quite a lot and will end the summary since I still need to do a full album overview come January.
As I finalized this narrative up I began to wonder if the band was secretly releasing the album one track at a time because we are still a few weeks out from the release of “Vale” and up to the fourth unveiled single. That would be interesting to find being the case because its certainly been keeping me busy but at the end of the day the additional BVB content is great for Google searches. Is this track “The Last One” that will be previewed? Let’s see what happens in 2018 which is around the corner at the time of this writing.
