The Coronavirus Pandemic has really put a dent in everyone’s way of life and often in the most aggregious of ways. Thanks to its infiltration our health, livelihoods and passions that take us away from it all have been placed in jeopardy. It’s during a time like this that people crave new music to remind them of more pleasurable times while we continue to ride the storm. That said, its great to find a new music video coming care of the Deftones and I’ve embedded the clip for “Ohms” down below for your enjoyment. I’ll return with some personal thoughts afterward. Enjoy.
The Deftones: Chino Moreno, Abe Cunningham, Frank Delgado, Stephen Carpenter, Sergio Vega.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Before I toss in some closing editorial ramblings, I want to say how much I liked this song. It’s flow and the overall vibe are just so satisfying to me and now for the surprise information. I have never ever seen or really followed much about the career of the Deftones. Amazing right but it does happen even when your role is that of someone who needs to discuss as much music as possible. Of course I have always maintained that its never too late to support a band and find their history with tools like Google, Spotify and YouTube. Now onto the views about this new clip. I found the clip to be a very energetic and engaging one because its split into two portions. There is live stage footage that shows the band rocking out the way that they are supposed to and then there is a mini-movie sort of thing that takes us to some kind of fantasy or science fiction realm as we watch a principle character walk through it. It’s kind of like watching some video game play and maybe the band was also going for that but either way I enjoyed it and didn’t stop to check my email or my Facebook Feed which are actions one often does when things get boring that they are watching. Definitely a satisfying presentation that I think their fans will rally behind. Good job Deftones, I look forward to more and getting better at my background on it all. What do you think?
