Last year, the DC Universe streaming service offered up a live-action series for the hit comic book “Swamp Thing” and this would air exclusively on said network even though a wide assortment of DC Comics superheroes have shows on The CW Network. Now, with the DC Universe moving away from such programming, the series is getting new life on the network and here is a season trailer to enjoy.
The Premise: Abby Arcane returns home to Houma, Louisiana to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, where she develops a bond with scientist Alec Holland. After Holland tragically dies, Arcane discovers the mysteries of the swamp and that Holland may not be dead after all.
The Cast and Characters:
Andy Bean and Derek Mears as Alec Holland/Swamp Thing
Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane
Maria Sten as Liz Tremayne
Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu
Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland
Will Patton as Avery Sunderland
Henderson Wade as Matt Cable
Kevin Durand as Jason Woodrue
Jennifer Beals as Lucilia Cable
Ian Ziering as Daniel Cassidy/Blue Devil
Leonardo Nam as Harlan Edwards
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Oddly enough when the show was airing, I was actually a subscriber to the service since I wanted to catch the shows. I really enjoyed “Titans”, but didn’t get too far into “Doom Patrol” or even begin “Swamp Thing” so I am glad to find that its going to be on The CW. With shows like “Arrow” being cancelled and the rest of the shows still a bit away in terms of new episodes from the virus, I have room on my DVR for this one. I’ve always liked the Swamp Thing character, particularly the Alan Moore run of the series way back when so I am looking forward to finally checking this out. My friends who watched it said it was great and I trust those particular people about such things. What do you think about the show making its debut on The CW? Chime in down below with your thoughts about the matter and I’ll see you again soon.
