The CW Network Reveals “Arrowverse” PSA “Real Heroes Wear Masks”

The COVID-19 Pandemic has surely been impacting on day to day life in a worldwide basis. Now a few months into this scourge its been better to both stay inside and limit your interactions with the outside world as much as is possible. Yesterday, The CW Network released a bevy of posters featuring the heroes from their wealth of DC Superhero programs all wearing an additional face protector. Truly a common sight when one is outside these days so let’s take a look at the posters and I’ll return at the close. Starting off we have Cress Williams aka “Black Lighting”.

We have two from “Legends Of Tomorrow” in their character Beebo and Caity Lotz as the White Canary. I’ve enjoyed this show since the beginning as its managed to include numerous other characters that kept it interesting.

“Stargirl” is up next and though I never really followed the character in the comics, I am enjoying the show considerably.

“Supergirl” is not playing games despite her Kryptonian physiology. Hopefully this inspires her fans to mirror the actions.

I liked this version of Superman when he made an appearance on the “Supergirl” show and hope that this upcoming series will be a good one. I don’t think this is a part of their “Arrowverse” mythology but I could be wrong here.

“The Flash” is the fastest man alive so his mask will be needing some series strength if its to stay in place while he is out in public. This show is the second longest running superhero show on the network after “Arrow” which ended its run earlier in the year. I have to say that I miss it a little bit.

The only show that is missing from the rundown is “Batwoman” and that is likely based on the lead actress Ruby Rose having exited the series at the close of its first season. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Now without getting on a soapbox here I am glad that they put the heroes who are already in masks of some kind for the most part, into the face protection that is encouraged to be done by the world at large. These are critical times and there is no vaccine for the virus at this time and I will not lie that I am super hesitant to be around anyone since I myself am prone to upper respiratory issues every few years. I’ve been fortunate to have avoided it and at this time I am working outside for a special initiative which puts me and plenty of people in the same space. Shudder. I don’t mind wearing the masks with people around me but I sure do look forward to being in my home when I can take it off and disconnect. Perhaps having all of the superheroes in masks will inspire the younger set in wearing them. That’s all I have on this one my friends but I do hope that you and yours have been keeping safe. You know, these shows are great ways to spend the inside time by doing some binge watching. Take care now, until we “meet” again. Right now its only going to be virtual.
