As the fourth and final day of the 2018 Comic Con International: San Diego (or SDCC) draws to its close, I am continuing to showcase the trailers that hit yesterday from The CW Television Network. You’ve probably already noticed that there have been quite a few trailer posts going live over the last couple of days and if you haven’t, then you should click HERE for the rundown of these narratives. This one gives us the preview of the DC Comics character Black Lighting. Let’s look.
The Premise: Jefferson Pierce, who retired from his superhero persona Black Lightning nine years ago after seeing the effects it had on his family, is forced to become a hero again when the rise of the local gang The One Hundred leads to increased crime and corruption in his community. PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve mentioned that I read the original comics way back in the day but I enjoyed the character more when he was a crucial member of The Outsiders under the guidance of Batman. This was many years ago however and I am not up on his place in the DC Comics Universe of the now. I liked the show enough but the main issue for me is this. His adventures don’t seem to take place on an Earth where the “Arrowverse” or even Supergirl exist but despite this the action was solid and the story lines. Black Lightning is the last of the DC Universe heroes to air on the network but I am sure more will follow in time. What did you think of the trailer? Chime in down below.
