Just the other day, a friend from the NYC Metal Scene that I’ve known for some years asked if I could share the news about the latest developments with the 2018 NYDM Music Festival. This massive annual event is organized by the heads of the NYDM individuals and for those who are wondering what the acronym means it stands for “New York Death Militia”. You’ve very likely seen patches like the one up above on jackets at Metal shows. Originally, this three day happening was set for a space in Tappan, NY but its since been moved to the Mid-Hudson Civic Center for its biggest two days and then to the more intimate Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck, NJ. Take a look at the massive poster that features some amazing Death Metal and NYHC bands.

Since I had the artwork for the respective days I am sharing those here as well. That Possessed headlining set is going to be awesome and the same can probably be said for Murphy’s Law who proved that they still have what it takes during the recent Misfits Reunion Show.

Don’t forget that the Sunday part of the event takes place in Teaneck, NJ, a slight bit of travel difference to deal with but likely a solid time if you like any of the bands performing that night. We still need to visit the Debonair Music Hall.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Sadly, we shall not be participating in this festival as I’ve locked myself into a couple of conventions that conflict with the scheduling. I am understanding that some tickets remain so if this interests you just click the link below as it should lead you to the means to purchase them. We did hear that our good friends at Rock Fantasy Concert Shop will have a table set up so be sure to stop by and see what they are selling. What do you readers think of this one? UPDATE: (8/14/2018) I’ve been alerted to the news that the band Murphy’s Law will NO LONGER be performing on the Saturday night of the event due to illness of the bands singer Jimmy Gestapo. The original poster has been replaced with the updated one and now Leeway will headline that night. Please note that while still listed on the Friday poster, they are NOT playing that night and will instead deliver their goods on Saturday. I only received updated artwork for the new Saturday headliner. We wish Jimmy G. a speedy recovery from whatever is ailing him.
