Presenting The 40th Annual Saturn Awards Winners

award show logos, saturn awards, saturn awards logo

When I shared the nominations for the 40th Annual Saturn Awards, I shared a bit of a background that I snagged from their Wikipedia entry. That said “The Saturn Awards are American awards presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films. The awards were created to honor science fiction, fantasy, and horror in film, but have since grown to reward other films belonging to genre fiction, as well as television and home media releases. The Saturn Awards were created in 1973 and were originally referred to as Golden Scrolls”.

As I lined out last year when I began to include this rundown into our content base, the goal was to expand the level of Pop Culture Entertainment features. Based on the films and television shows that they honor its the perfect addition so here we go again. With all the formalities out of the way here are your winners for the 40th Annual Saturn Awards. Remember that I had noted that some of the categories had changed since the post we did in 2013. See you again when its all over.

I’m posting this one but I really don’t know all that much about the Brad Pit action/horror film that pits the remaining living people of the world against a rapidly growing zombie pandemic. Having been a regular viewer of the “Walking Dead” series and greatly enjoying our struggle against the dead (at least on the screen more than I likely would in real life) I figured this would be a great film for fans of this brand of horror. The thing that intrigues me most is the fact that the zombies appear to move fast and like wild herds of animals where in “The Walking Dead” they mostly shamble about with force. The trailers for this sure do look exciting so let’s hope for the best. My expectations are that is keeps a bleakness that we find in “TWD” and while there should be moments of hope, this does not seem like a scenario that we would and should expect to easily come out of. Make sure to keep a space between you an the next person in the audience free just in case.
