Back in June I shared the quick trailer for “Rush: Cinema Strangiato” to properly herald the films One Night Only presentation and if you didn’t see said trailer post just click HERE to be up to speed. The moment has arrived my friends and this film is premiering tonight AND only tonight at select theaters across the country and in NYC’s own beautiful Village East Cinema. The Scoop: The Holy Trinity of Rock returns to the big screen on Wednesday, August 21, when the first “Annual Exercise in Fan Indulgence” Cinema Strangiato brings Rush fans together in movie theatres worldwide. Featuring R40+, this global fan event will give audiences a special look into some of the best performances from R40 LIVE, including songs such as “Closer to the Heart”, “Subdivisions”, “Tom Sawyer” and more, as well as unreleased backstage moments and candid footage left on the cutting room floor. R40+ also includes unseen soundcheck performances of the fan-favorite “Jacob’s Ladder”, exclusive new interviews with Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, Taylor Hawkins, producer Nick Raskulinecz, violinist Jonathan Dinklage and more. As a special bonus, fans will get a glimpse into the madness and passion that went in to the making of Geddy Lee’s new book, Geddy Lee’s Big Beautiful Book of Bass – featuring a brand-new interview from the man himself.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Though I love Rush quite a bit, I am not yet 100% sure that I am seeing this film with the rest of the legions. I’m still pretty tired from rocking out last night with “The Hottest Band In The World – KISS!!!” and if you know how much that band means to me you will understand. It’s pretty exciting to find the legendary Rush showcased on the big screen and this will very likely see release as a must have Blu-ray, DVD or Digital release once its available to the public. I recently mused aloud about how cool living in this Media Metropolis was based on all the varied events that can take place at a moments notice. I did this in regards to the video viewing of King Diamond’s latest release “Songs For The Dead Live” which was summarized HERE in the event you missed it. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Hey I don’t want to add anything else to the mix. I’ve heard a couple of the tracks already and this sounds damned good. I am unsure if I will be in attendance at this event though since I will likely need a few days of solitude in the PiercingMetal Batcave post the annual Toy Fair. As you read this I am actually just finishing off my first day of this industry event and have three more loaded days to go. It is a daunting affair that I love to attend but once its done I shut off everything to recoup the energy. Maybe I will bounce back and be there though since I have been a fan of Dream Theater since the very first album was being played once in a while over on the WSOU radio station out of Seton Hall University.
