We’ve been sharing the intelligence secured from the folks behind the scenes at the much vaunted Wacken Open Air Festival (as seen HERE) and while it’s a new month for their side of the fence, its still Halloween over here in the states and what better a day to share news involving their event and the insanity that is Slipknot. Midnight, the witching hour – even more so in the final night of October to the 1st of November, when according to the popular American Halloween tradition all sorts of ghosts, vampires, and other nocturnal creatures are roaming around in seach of sweets and other treats.

The Details: Udo Dirkschneider is the original voice behind the classic tunes of the mighty Accept and it’s been a long time since he’s rocked and rolled in the USA. It’s been so long a time that even I don’t remember when it was that I saw him last but since then he’s moved on to a prolifically busy solo career and is bringing us a sure to be rocking show. He’ll be bringing along Halcyon Way for direct support and NYC will have local Metal flavor from Winter Nights. All this makes me excited to let you know that thanks to the fine folks at Livenation some lucky PiercingMetal readers are going to get to enjoy the show for free.

The release of U.D.O.’s “Nailed To Metal – The Missing Tracks” is a really good live recording. While I have never really been a fan of Udo Dirkschnieder’s voice, I found myself really feeling the intensity he delivers his songs has been kept throughout his career. I first saw Accept when they opened for KISS on the “Lick It Up” tour and the fans were Legion at this performance. Yet for some odd reason I was not into them yet. I would change that opinion after a few more listens to the “Restless And Wild” and “Balls To The Wall” albums.
