Hasbro Commemorates The 40th Anniversary of “The Transformers: The Movie” with “The Apology Tour”

Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company, is officially kicking off a year-long celebration of THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE’s 40th anniversary that honors the film for its epic action, iconic characters, and that tragic moment fans are very much still processing.

In 1986, THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE rolled into theaters and proved that animated films can pull an emotional punch that can last across decades. The Autobots and Decepticons went to war, and in a moment that audiences young and old were not prepared for, Optimus Prime was defeated in an epic showdown with his arch-nemesis Megatron. This single moment hit hard and quietly taught millions of kids that great leadership sometimes comes with sacrifice. Decades later, the movie has only grown more legendary through home video re-releases, theatrical revivals, and generations of fans passing the Matrix of Leadership down to new viewers accompanied by a gentle reminder of that heart-wrenching scene.

Scenes From New York Comic Con 2025: Crunchyroll, Hasbro and Loyal Subjects

The 2025 edition of the New York Comic Con wrapped a couple of weeks ago and in addition to a comprehensive day by day walkthrough posts, I dissected some of the photos from those days to offer up as succinct focus posts. Doing this let’s the content entertain you in a slightly different fashion and of course bumps up the overall amount of posts done for the convention. This post features three exciting companies that were present at New York Comic Con with Crunchyroll, Hasbro and The Loyal Subjects. Let’s get this party started with the Crunchyroll Manga booth.

So I’m not going to lie to you about this but I really don’t read a whole lot of Manga. I do love the format as an entertainment medium but I am mostly focused on the more traditional releases from the Marvel, DC and Image side of the fence and especially when collecting.

Crunchyroll was showcasing their “Crunchyroll Manga” app to the assembled masses and this booth was quite popular with fans checking it out and learning how to sign up for it. Here’s a look at some of the booth.

Skybound and Hasbro Announce A New Era During “Energon Universe” Panel at New York Comic Con 2025

At the official Energon Universe panel at New York Comic Con (NYCC) this weekend, Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading games, IP and toy company Hasbro, revealed all-new covers, interior pages, and character designs from the shared universe in a panel featuring superstars Robert Kirkman (Void Rivals, TRANSFORMERS), Joshua Williamson (G.I. JOE), Dan Mora (TRANSFORMERS), Jorge Corona (TRANSFORMERS), Tom Reilly (G.I. JOE), Conor Hughes (Void Rivals) and Ben Abernathy (Executive Editor for the Energon Universe at Skybound).

Fittingly titled TRANSFORMERS & G.I. JOE: A New Era for the Energon Universe, the panel was the first public appearance following last week’s debut of TRANSFORMERS #25 by new creative team Kirkman and Mora, and also the perfect tease for the upcoming new story arcs with G.I. JOE’s Dreadnok War kicking off with issue #13 this November and Void Rival’s Quintesson War beginning with issue #25 in December.

Exhibitor Spotlight from Toy Fair 2025: Hasbro Part Two

Hello once again my dear friends. As always its nice to see you dropping in for our posts and as some of you already know, I am continuing along with the findings from the Toy Association’s annual Toy Fair trade show. I’m up to our Hasbro Toys appointment and hitting the second installment from them. Let’s get down to business.

As I’ve already pointed out. Hasbro Toys maintains a few licenses that I greatly enjoy such as Marvel Comics releases, which you all should have seen yesterday, Star Wars and even GI Joe. With this installment we are focusing the spotlight on their “Transformers” items. I’ll speak here and there but not as often as I had been doing since there are still other posts to do on the website and the eventual finalization of Toy Fair items.

Now though I still love the franchise for “Transformers” I am not really collecting any of them at this point. There are just far too many for me to decide on but I will admit that the Optimus Prime that greeted us was a welcome sight and I’d purchase him any day.

Exhibitor Spotlight from Toy Fair 2025: Super7 Part Two

Hello again my friends and welcome back to another installment from the Toy Association’s Toy Fair for 2025. The event ended a couple of weeks ago but as you know with shows like this one you end up with a whole lot of content to share with your audience. Today I will be finishing up with what I observed at the Super7 booth so without any further adieu let’s continue.

When last we met I had wrapped up with some Metal legends brought to action figure life and now its time to share some really cool Reaction versions of the “Micronauts” series. Growing up I absolutely loved “The Micronauts” and especially their main villain Baron Karza. He was a large figure held together by magnetic joints but this smaller figure makes an impression.

It was interesting to see a smaller version of Biotron as this was originally one of the largest figures that they had. I might have to get that Karza one.
