PiercingMetal’s Exhibitor Interviews From Toy Insider’s “Sweet Suite” 2024 @ The Glasshouse

Last week, PiercingMetal was once again invited to participate in the annual “Sweet Suite”, a mega-toy preview event held by the fine folks over at The Toy Insider. Today’s affair would be held at a brand-new event space to my list called The Glass House. If memory serves me correctly, I’ve been attending the groups events since 2016 and now the coverage spans across all three of my websites. The more adult collector stuff gets shown here and now its time to share some of the videos that were done at the event. Starting off is the amazing “Transformers” robots from Robosen. These are so damned cool.

Checking Out Playmates Toys @ Toy Insider’s “Spring Fling” 2024

Our friends over at The Toy Insider had recently announced a brand-new event called the “Spring Fling Toy Preview” and it would be held at an event space that I never visited before as well so when the invitation came to come out and explore for the purposes of the website and its bevy of social media profiles, I could not resist. From the get go I felt that this was a great idea since the usual winter months Toy Fair was not happening and would be returning in early 2025. Of course there was a Toy Fair back in the Fall of 2023 which dedicated readers of the site already know based on the content that was posted across the realm. Once I was situated in Lavan Midtown, I began exploring and found that most of the items being exhibited were more suited to our companion website “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. I’ll link to that later on but now its time to showcase what we found at a toy company that has been discussed on numerous occasions, Playmates Toys.

It’s without question that I love what Playmates Toys is releasing these days and over the years we’ve seen assorted variations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Voltron and Star Trek. Currently they are the holder of the license for the upcoming “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” film and brought a lot of the line with them to the Spring Fling. Let’s take a look.

Scenes From New York Comic Con 2023: Day One (Part 1)

Oh yes my friends, its time to get excited because you have arrived at the very first official post of the photo editorial takeover and event overview that PiercingMetal is serving up from the famed New York Comic Con which began this past Thursday. As you read this I am heading there for the fourth and final day but the coverage you’ll see is starting from the very top. The 2023 convention marks my 13th straight year of attendance in an official capacity as media and as expected there is a ton of awesome to share with you from this kind of event. The plan remains a constant with lots of photography and I’ll also be looking into some Artist Alley interviews if the talent is interested in doing them with me. Now before I get started let’s showcase the spiffy Press Badge for 2023. I loved that it has a black cat with a camera based on what I do and since I love black cats. I wasn’t even inside the Javits Center when I decided to get my very first cosplayer photo which was this young fan in his Blue Beetle best. Did you see this film? Did you like it? On we go.

Scenes From Toy Insider’s “Holiday Of Play” 2023: Kidult Collector Awesome

The holiday season was drawing ever so closer to being right on top of us and that means it was once again time for the Toy Insider’s awesome holiday happening known as the “Holiday Of Play”. Now according to my media memory, I’ve been attending both this and their summertime “Sweet Suite” event since about 2016 and over the years have parsed the content between this and my lifestyle website “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. While that sites content can be found by clicking HERE, this post lays its focus on the kinds of things the more grown up collector leans on. Give or take of course, so let’s explore these awesome items starting with our friends at Playmates Toys.

Playmates Toys has two really big licenses at the moment with their long-standing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures and playsets and the Miraculous Ladybug stuff. Last time, I posted the Ladybug things over on “The Chronicles” but with so much happening over there I just put them all together here. They didn’t have any of the Star Trek stuff that I saw at other events but maybe next time.

Revealing “Pokemon” Goodies From Toy Insider’s “Sweet Suite 2023”

A few short weeks ago, the PiercingMetal website once again had the honor of attending the Toy Insider’s “Sweet Suite” event. This is a special toy industry showcase that finds many exhibitors from some amazing companies showcasing their latest and greatest offerings. One of the big exhibitors was the Pokemon Center and in this space you could see all of the cool upcoming Pokemon awesome. If you played the game with one of their reps you would get a prize package and the video below is my reveal of said goodie bag.
