As you’ve most likely learned by now, Sony Pictures will be expanding the world of the Amazing Spider-Man with a number of films despite the characters long awaited inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he rightfully belongs. One of these films is “Venom” which stars Tom Hardy as the famous “villain” and the first teaser trailer for it was just released. Let’s take a look.
Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom
Michelle Williams as Ann Weying
Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Move along folks, not much to see here…..yet. I don’t usually talk much about the teasers but will say that this one was a big disappointment. Sure we see some action and some Tom Hardy but nothing with the actual character of Venom in it. They are probably saving that for the longer trailer which will come I imagine in a few more weeks. I guess its too early for an overall premise to include here but at least we got the casting of a few of the characters we will find in the film. That’s all I will say for now. What did you readers think? A quick notation is welcome before we get the full on trailer. Ciao for now.
Gentlemen, start your engines and make sure you have enough weapons on board your ride with you as “Mad Max: Fury Road”. This is the fourth film in the “Mad Max” franchise and comes care of George Miller (director, producer, co-writer) and will be the first film to present this character in about thirty years. Check out the poster, premise and cast and then we can chat a little on it.
The Premise: The film is set in a future desert wasteland where gasoline and water are scarce commodities. When cult leader Immortan Joe sends Imperator Furiosa off in an armored tanker truck to collect gasoline, he sees her drive significantly off route. Joe sends his entire army in pursuit of her, which leads to a lengthy road battle, which sees one of Joe’s captives, Max, joining forces with Furiosa. Everyone is getting a grip that March Metal Madness is now over and coming to the realization that the time to prepare the taxes is here, unless you were one of the smart folks who have finished and processed them already. I salute you folks in the readership who have done that because I am still puttering about and looking at the paperwork. That being said it was great timing that the trailer for the upcoming Science Fiction Action film “Mad Max: Fury Road” is here to be enjoyed in full. You can check it out below.
The big day is finally here for the fans of the Batman franchise as “The Dark Knight Rises” opens up in theaters everywhere. The film continues and apparently completes the saga that Chris Nolan began with “Batman Begins” and continued with “The Dark Knight” and I have to admit that I never realized this was going to be a trilogy. Nolan’s Batman was grittier than any we had seen before, and even more so than the one from the 1989 film where he was played by Michael Keaton. In any event I am excited for this movie.
