The Japan Society Announces Special Public Screening of “Godzilla Minus One”

Japan Society is honored to announce a special public preview screening of Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus One. Following its world premiere at the prestigious Tokyo International Film Festival, Japan Society will present the first Japanese Godzilla movie since 2016 to eager audiences in NYC on November 28 at 7:00 pm. The special public screening will take place at Japan Society (333 E. 47th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues) and is in partnership with Toho International, who will release Godzilla Minus One in theaters across the U.S. on December 1.

International toy titan Playmates has been named master toy partner with forthcoming products themed to Godzilla vs. Kong, as well as additional product lines featuring Legendary’s Monsterverse and Classic Toho Monsters. Film partnerships also include: leading global manufacturer of licensed apparel and accessories, Bioworld; the preeminent designer and manufacturer of costumes, Rubies; leading pop culture consumer product company Funko; interactive live-action adventure escape room producer 60Out; and virtual reality content studio, the Virtual Reality Company (VRC); within the categories of toys, apparel and accessories, costumes, collectible novelty toys, escape rooms, and location-based VR experiences, respectively.

Takashi Murakami Creates Monstrous Artwork to Celebrate Godzilla’s 65th Anniversary

We love Godzilla for sure and have been watching his movies for quite a few decades now. In the coming weeks The Big G will have his 65th Birthday and that brings me to this cool news about the famous kaiju. Check it out.

Godzilla, The King of the Monsters bursts forth from the elements in a new painting from Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to celebrate Godzilla’s 65th Anniversary. The original painting will be seen for the first time at ComplexCon this weekend in Long Beach, November 2 – 3. The 11ft high painting will be on display at the Godzilla booth (E23) along with exclusive Godzilla merchandise including some lines featuring Murakami’s Godzilla artwork.

“We’re honored that an artist as iconic as Takashi Murakami has created artwork that so beautifully captures the essence of Godzilla,” said Keiji Ota, CGO (Chief Godzilla Officer) at Toho. “We’re celebrating Godzilla’s 65th anniversary starting on November 3rd and continuing throughout the year, and we couldn’t think of a better way to kick it off than with this sublime piece of art from Takashi Murakami.”

Godzilla Stomps into San Diego Comic-Con for the First Time

Many of the attendees of the upcoming Comic Con International: San Diego are in countdown mode since the event starts in some sense tomorrow with the larger convention beginning on Thursday. I’ve shared some coolness already which you can observe via THIS LINK and now its time to share some convention plans by the one and only Godzilla. Take a look.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: The more I read about the 2019 SDCC the sadder I get about not attending. I encourage our diehards to keep us in mind as they wander the floor and mention us as one of their preferred entertainment websites since the more the merrier after all. Toho Animation: “Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle” Official Trailer

As you know, we’ve been posting trailer items for a few years now and over the last couple of them have expanded to include some of the most popular Anime releases as well. Let’s face it, there are numerous conventions aimed at the stuff so it was good to share with you all and that brings me to our latest item. The fine folks at Toho Animation are at it again and have served up another trailer for a brand-new animated Godzilla film. Set far in the future, here is “Godzilla: City On The Edge Of Battle”.

The Plot: Following their crushing defeat at the hands of Godzilla Earth, Haruo Sakaki and his allies encounter a mysterious aboriginal tribe descended from the humans left behind on Earth 20,000 years ago, and uncover a mechanized city-sized fortress formed from the long-lost anti-Godzilla weapon Mechagodzilla.
