Win A Ticket To Trinity @ B.B. King Blues Club On 11/27/2016

The Details: The combined vocal power of Geoff Tate, Tim “Ripper” Owens and Blaze Bayley are united under the touring project known as Trinity and New York City Metal fans are going to lose their minds as the former front men of Queensryche, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden stand together on the same stage. Classic songs are par for the course with this one and I don’t think that they have ever toured together before. Speaking frankly it’s been years since I’ve seen any of them perform as well and that makes me happy to announce that thanks to the powers that be at the venerated B.B. King Blues Club, several readers of the PiercingMetal site are going to see this show for free. Read below on how to participate.

When and Where: Sunday, November 27th at B.B. King Blues Club 7:30pm (237 West 42nd Street NYC)

To Participate:
In the past I have stuck to a standard of giving me three things about the performer that was being showcased but with three titanic artists I am going to have to test your mettle just a little bit more. With this one I would like you to give me two things that you like most about each of these performers. You can do three if you like for better reading but two is a must and please number and label them properly. Make it good stuff and not the whole “cuz they rule dude” because that is just not trying at all and will make me question your skills. Please note this is for a single ticket only and no plus one requests will be honored. Sorry to do that but hey if you win you can always help your friend pay for a ticket or buy them something to drink inside the venue (provided you are of age to do so). I’ll be selecting winners from the submissions and letting them know directly below their entry. Kindly review these guidelines.

Music Luminaries Share Their New Year’s Metal Resolutions for 2012: Part 2

new year's music resolutions

Welcome back, I’m so glad you could join us. You might remember how I recently posted a little more than a handful of New Year’s Metal Resolutions for 2012 by some truly great musical personality. Well, please enjoy the continuation of this enlightening and fun group of insights as we ask the Metal Community great to finish the sentence “My New Year’s Metal Resolution for 2012 Is……”

Alex Skolnick (lead guitarist for Testament/Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Alex Skolnick Trio): My New Year’s Musical Resolution is to sift through the endless musical ideas I’ve recorded as voice memos or on MP3’s or cassette in the last few years and develop some of them into real songs.

Lance King (lead vocals for Avian, Pyramaze, more): My New Years Metal Resolution is “To incite the Metal Masses, awaken them from their apathy, to get their collective asses in gear to support the scene wherever they live in any way they can. To help spread the word and to go out to see the touring bands, help them make ends meet by paying the ticket price, having a head banging great time and buying a shirt, music or both!!! Seriously, the scene in all countries needs a huge shot in the arm. People need to take up the support roles of the fallen in promoting shows, championing artists with PR, sponsorships, media coverage, video skills, radio, new marketing ideas, alternate sources of revenue so bands are able to get out and do what they love to do best, share the music with the fans live. There simply is nothing in tech and home media that can reproduced a live metal concert’s experience when done well.

Sammy Avigal (vocals for Avigal): My new year’s Metal resolution is to continue living the Metal dream, enjoy what I love, and do best, and hopefully influence the next generation of Metal heads, as I was influenced as a young Metal head myself by the Metal elders of my generation.

Charred Walls Of The Damned @ Gramercy Theatre (7/8/2010)

Logo - Charred Walls Of The Damned

Artist: Charred Walls Of The Damned
Venue: Gramercy (New York, NY)
Opener: Don Jamieson, Magus Beast, The Hixon, The Smash-Up
Date: 7/8/20100
Label: Metal Blade Records

Charred Walls Of The Damned is a new Metal project band for former Death and Iced Earth skin basher Richard Christy. The drummer has been out of the Metal loop for a few years based on his working with the Howard Stern radio show but of course once this is in your blood it is only a matter of time before you return to it. I guess it’s like being in the mob. It was not long ago that the bug sunk its fangs deep into Christy’s system and beckoned him back to the Metal stage and to do this time proper he would assemble a killer band to record with in his new group the Charred Walls of the Damned. On guitar he would have producer Jason Suecof and on bass Steve DiGiorgio. The powerful music that would come from such players could only be properly compensated by the incendiary vocal pipes of Tim “Ripper” Owens who for many fans of the genre can do no wrong. Their self-titled album has been getting some positive reviews and this release would be the focus of their set tonight. They would have a few regional bands as support in each stop but the direct support space was relegated to comedian Don Jamieson from “That Metal Show”; the program hosted by Eddie Trunk. Here is how the larger part of the night went down for those who might have missed it.
