It was that time of the year again for the always amazing “Sweet Suite” event that comes care of the fine folks at the Toy Insider. According to my notes, I’ve been attending Toy Insider happenings since 2016 and I look forward to it each and every time. This year I’ve decided to post the coverage a little differently since while some things are best served up here on PiercingMetal, there are also a number of amazing products that I can feature over on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. Let’s start off with some visuals from the Playmates Toys booth.
I’ll begin with what they had from their “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” line. Some of you might have already seen a couple of these items from “The Play Date” event where I did a product overview video with them but some items are new for the season. I love the smaller figures and plan on getting myself a set soon. I still have the original action figures from long, long ago in a box somewhere.
Since 2016, the PiercingMetal website has been attending the Toy Insider’s annual “Sweet Suite” event which for the last two years had moved into the virtual space based on the COVID-19 Pandemic. Those events were interesting but now with the world getting more pace with what amounted to “normal” once again, they would be returning to an in-person “Sweet Suite” and it would be back right where we last left it at the Chelsea Piers.
Hello again my friends and welcome to something awesome. Now, you might recall my mentioning that I’ve been in attendance at the Toy Insider’s events for the last few years and while we ran into them all at the annual Toy Fair, the last media happening was with their 2018 “Holiday Of Play” (documented HERE in case you missed it). Now that the summer was here it was time for their biggest soiree the “Sweet Suite” which was once again being held at Chelsea Piers #60. This marks my fourth straight Sweet Suite event and while the larger group of products I see will be featured on “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken”, all of the Pop Culture geek stuff will be presented here. Let’s take a look shall we. First up were a whole bunch of awesome cosplayers. I believe this crew referred to themselves as “The New York Avengers” and I don’t think that I need to name the heroes and villains represented here.
Hey there my friends, its time for another one of those “Shameless Plug” traffic sign posts that sends you over to my lifestyle website, “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken”. I’m here to tell you about my recent attendance of the Toy Insider’s “Sweet Suite” which we were hitting for the third year in a row. These people know there stuff and its an honor to be among the limited members of the media that get invited. Now you know we have been documenting stuff about Toys and Comics on this website for several years now, but this event goes to “The Chronicles” since a lot of the items we see are geared towards a younger crowd. I announce the visit here based on so many of our friends having younger children or members of their family and we want them to learn about this stuff. Clicking the colorful logo below will transport you to the tag for the event and I hope that you enjoy what you see.
As per the usual with these sort of alerts the means to comment on THIS posting has been turned off since I’d rather that readers chime in on the appropriate post over on “The Chronicles”. For additional viewpoints, images and updates from the field as we experience them, please follow “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken” on the popular social networks of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We’d love to have you along for the ride, now back to the Metal and Geek stuff.
Hello my friends, I’m chiming in this afternoon to let you know that I recently attended The Toy Insider’s massive preview event known as the “Sweet Suite” and documented my findings on my “Chronicles Of Piercing Ken” website. Unlike some of the Toy Fair stuff that you see me post on PiercingMetal.com in our “Toys and Collectibles” Category, the observations at the “Sweet Suite” are aimed at a much younger base. Since so many of our readership friends are parents (and some even grandparents), I wanted to get them on point with those narratives. Just click the logo below to be magically transported to that website and its serialized chapters of this awesome event.
