DC Comics First Issues Coming In December 2016

Getting back onto the comic book first issues coming in December I’m onto the DC Comics stuff and there aren’t a whole lot of new titles launching to speak of. There is an interesting weekly series starting off and a couple of Director’s Cut editions for those fans who enjoy that sort of thing. Check it out.

JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. SUICIDE SQUAD #1: The first major event storyline of DC’s Rebirth era begins with a day Amanda Waller always knew would come: the Justice League discovers the existence of the Suicide Squad! This government-sponsored black-ops team of super-villains with bombs implanted in their brains is obviously a deal-breaker for Earth’s paragons of truth and justice! But you can bet that the Wall and her Task Force X won’t go down without the fight to end all fights as this weekly series gets underway!

PiercingMetal Sees “Suicide Squad” @ Alpine Cinemas

Hey there readers so “Suicide Squad” opened just over two weeks ago at the time of this writing and since I am aiming at doing a lot more movie reviews when they are still in theaters here we are. I usually hit these films with our stalwart media companion Skeleton Pete but he couldn’t join me this time around. With this film, I decided to keep it local and went to the Alpine Theater in my own Bay Ridge neighborhood which was a better idea since the price of my ticket and some snacks were about the same as the ticket only at the Manhattan theater. Let’s go to the movies.

For those who are in the unaware, “Suicide Squad” is the third film in the currently being built DC Extended Universe. This began with “Man Of Steel” and continued into “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” which was released earlier this year and since that last one was received with a very mixed and negative opinion, one could only cross their fingers about this one and to briefly recap its premise, here is what the Wiki had to say about the film’s bottom line.

Logo - Suicide Squad Film

We have arrived at the third installment of the DC Extended Universe and after the division that “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” left us with I can only hope that we shall be placed onto a more proper live action path with this one. Check out the poster, premise and cast and then I will return with a few more thoughts on the matter.

Poster - Suicide Squad - Theatrical 2016

The Premise:
“A secret government agency led by Amanda Waller recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency and saving the world from an unknown but powerful threat”. (thanks Wiki)
