The Premise: The series is set in the 32nd century, the far-future of the Star Trek franchise where Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets are recovering from a cataclysmic event, as depicted in Star Trek: Discovery. Starfleet Academy follows the first new class of Starfleet cadets in over a century as they come of age and train to be officers. They are taught aboard the USS Athena, a starship that docks at the Starfleet Academy campus in San Francisco but can also be deployed with the rest of the fleet. (c/o Wiki)

Ghost Will Perform On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert – 10/30/2015

Logo - Ghost

Please don’t poke yourself with something sharp as you are NOT imagining things. The band Ghost will indeed be performing live on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and you know you want to set your DVR’s for this momentous occasion as NYC’s newest Late Night show offering brings the bands macabre message to the masses just in time for Halloween. The poster for this is also on the amaze balls side so check this out as well.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I think this is fantastic news to be quite honest and am awed by the rapid climb that Ghost has made as a band across the fans of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock music over the last few years. Their presentation is surely strong and their music is solid enough for a wider audience to sink their teeth into and offer up homage to their Dark Master. The question remains will Papa Emeritus III be all decked out in his clerical raiments or will he be more like we saw during their brief acoustic set that was documented on PiercingMetal on THIS LINK. I guess we will have to tune in to see for ourselves but overall this is a pretty cool thing to find happening. I do wish it was also giving us a lengthier show like we used to find happening with the “Live On Letterman” Internet broadcasts. What do you all think about this one? Will you be staying up a little later to watch it as it happens or setting your DVR or maybe even foolishly bypassing it altogether. Let me know as it always interests me. Oh yes and I don’t actually know how to get tickets for this show yet but it should work the same as Letterman used to by clicking around their link to vie for tickets and perhaps Ghost has even been given some access so hit their official site or Facebook to know more. Good luck if you try.

UPDATE: As the show aired and has begun streaming the clip on their Official YouTube Channel, I am embedding the song “Cirice” which was performed live in front of the NYC Flock
