It was just about a month ago when I reported on the nominees for the 2023 Game Awards and since like keeping pace with this kind of stuff for our Pop Culture focuses, I’m back to share the recently announced winners of said awards. Now I’ve mentioned that I am not at all the biggest gamer on the Interwebs but I do go to the annual Play NYC Convention which lets me meet amazing game developers and companies. I’ll talk more about that in my closing but now without any further adieu, here are the winners of the 2023 edition of The Game Awards. Oh yeah and let’s recap about what this even is for the other newbies out there.

The Game Awards is an annual awards ceremony honoring achievements in the video game industry. Established in 2014, the shows are produced and hosted by game journalist Geoff Keighley, who worked on its predecessor, the Spike Video Game Awards, for over ten years. In addition to the awards, The Game Awards features premieres of upcoming games and new information on previously-announced titles. (c/o Wiki)

Square Enix Presents: Marvel’s “Avengers” Official Trailer

The E3 Convention/Expo is underway and I have a number of colleagues in attendance doing reporting for their respective mediums. Their being there led me to follow some of the activity for our Pop Culture focuses since video games are often based on the Toys, Comics and Film items that are discussed on that section of the PiercingMetal.com website. When I saw the trailer for the upcoming 2020 release of “Marvel’s Avengers” by the folks at Square Enix, I knew that I had to share it with the readership. Take a look down below.

About The Game: Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Marvel Entertainment and Square Enix are excited to unveil Marvel’s Avengers, an epic action-adventure game that combines cinematic storytelling with single-player and co-operative gameplay. Developed by Crystal Dynamics in collaboration with Eidos-Montréal, Nixxes Software, and Crystal Northwest, Marvel’s Avengers will release simultaneously for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, Stadia, and PC on May 15, 2020.

In keeping pace with some of the video game trailers that we find being released, here is the recently revealed “movie trailer” for the “Kingdom Hearts III” Fantasy/Adventure game. I hope you enjoy it if you like this stuff and I’ve followed the clip with some background and closing editorial. Take a look.

About The Game: Kingdom Hearts III is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the twelfth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, a sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, and the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga. Set after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, returning protagonist Sora is joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku in their search for the seven Guardians of Light and the “Key to Return Hearts” as they attempt to thwart the restored Xehanort’s plan to bring about a second Keyblade War. Their journey has them cross paths with characters and visit worlds based on different Disney and Pixar properties. (c/o Wiki)

PiercingMetal Thoughts: As I’ve mentioned on a few posts, I am not as much the gamer as I am the comic book collector and cinephile but with our Pop Culture side growing and growing in terms of conventions and topical coverage, I will always post a trailer clip along with a purchase code to Amazon.com to keep it all in motion. This does look like a fun game if its going to bring all of these great characters together. What do you think about this? Have you played any iteration of the game yet? Do chime in down below in the comments section.
