Marvel Primer Pages add All-New Content to “MARVEL LEGACY”

In addition to all of the monthly Comic Book Solicitations posts we do here at PiercingMetal we like to also focus on some of the interesting news about things that are happening in our favorite titles. Take a look at the scoop about these Primer Pages that will be appearing in some issues of the Marvel Legacy titles. I’ve culled together the full press details and the provided images are at the bottom of the post for your consumption.

The Press Release:
Marvel Legacy is changing the way you read comics – and the future of the Marvel Universe. This fall, Marvel is proud to present MARVEL PRIMER PAGES!, three all-new pages of comic content written by Robbie Thompson (Silk, Doctor Strange and the Sorcerer Supreme) with a majority of art from acclaimed superstar Mark Bagley (The Amazing Spider-Man, All New X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man). These stories will draw all readers into the Marvel Universe like never before. And at no extra cost to the reader, what better way to change the way readers jump into a series!

Featured in select Marvel Legacy issues, each story provides easy access into the world of each title character, as well as easy access into the Legacy stories. Designed to give brand new readers a hook into the series, MARVEL PRIMER PAGES will offer all fans a simple jumping on point for almost all of Marvel’s heroic and iconic characters.

“When I first approached Robbie and Mark to do these Primer stories, I gave them only one edict: to remind all readers both who these characters are and what they’re about in three all new pages,” said Marvel editor Darren Shan. “What we got back has been some of the most fun art I’ve ever seen from Mark! And we couldn’t be luckier to have someone like Robbie to cherry pick the most classic moments in Marvel history. Then the two of them tie this all up into one perfect package. I think everyone will love these!”

This set of variants will go together well with the collection of “Gwen Stacy” covers that we discussed almost two years ago on THIS POST. Did you get all of those? Marvel Comics Unveils “Corner Box” Variant Covers For February

The news about this next set of variant covers hit the media a couple of months ago but I am generally of the mindset that readers don’t remember much about the day before yesterday nowadays much less an announcement from months ago based on all the constant stimulation from the social networks. With comic book stuff like this I’ve found it beneficial to do them as reminders so you can hit the shop a few weeks before and make sure special editions are added to your pull list. That said this next batch features a time honored part of the comic book cover as beautifully rendered by the great Joe Jusko. Check it out.

Press Release:
Face front, True Believers and prepare for the return of the iconic Marvel Corner Boxes! Today, Marvel is pleased to announce a series of over 20 Corner Box Variant Covers, coming to select comics throughout the month of February! All rendered by legendary artist Joe Jusko, these covers feature lush paintings inspired by the classic Marvel corner box artwork of yesterday!

“We’re elated to have Joe Jusko do a series of variant covers based on the classic Marvel corner boxes,” says Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel. “Joe perfectly recaptures what made that artwork so iconic in the first place, and he’s bringing that sense of gravitas to some brand new Marvel Corner Boxes featuring modern characters like Spider-Gwen, Deadpool and more.”

Marvel is pleased to reveal the first eight Corner Box Variants, coming to these February titles:

1. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #24

“Amazing Spider-Man” #24 (Corner Box Variant)

2. AVENGERS #4

“Avengers” #4 (Corner Box Variant)

Marvel Comics First Issues Coming In November 2015

Wow was that a fun-filled October or what? I’m saying it like that because not only did we have a lot of awesome Metal shows to slam around at but also a ton of super cool comic books to read and of course the latest edition of NY Comic Con which I know so many of our regional readers had assembled at in force. So here we are now in November and we will be getting “27” new series from Marvel Comics which amounts to almost a new title per day of the month if you wanted to get playful with math. For the sake of shopping and my own sanity I have marked down all of the new series coming out this month from Marvel Comics and they are listed alphabetically for easy visual digestion. Some will hit the stands this coming week and the rest as the month progresses. As usual the cover art and premise/creative team comes from the publicity team over at Marvel and then I’ll be chiming in. Better start requesting a couple of extra shifts at work to cover this amount of monthly titles because there are just so darned many to choose from. I suggest you keep a pencil and paper near you as you make your way through this massive grouping. Here we go.

"All-New All-Different Avengers" #1
“All-New All-Different Avengers” #1
"All-New All-Different Avengers" #2
“All-New All-Different Avengers” #2

All-New, All-Different Avengers #1-2: The Avengers are dead–long live the Avengers! Earth’s Mightiest Heroes–Captain America, Thor, Vision, and Iron Man–are living separate lives, not tied to any team–but when a threat from beyond the stars targets our world, fate draws them together once more, alongside Nova, Ms. Marvel, and Miles Morales a.k.a. Spider-Man!
