Today Only: “We Are Twisted F**king Sister” @ Cinema Village (2/19/2016)

Attention NYC Twisted Sister fans; the brand new documentary “We Are Twisted F***ing Sister” is playing today at Cinema Village in NYC and there are four showings to choose from with the debut at 1:00PM. There is a 4:00PM, 7:00PM (and that one is followed by a Q&A with Jay Jay French and director Andrew Horn) along with a 10:00PM to choose from as well. Depending on your times of availability for the day you have some nice options but I would try and go to the one with the Q&A aspect since that should be interesting. Check out the poster below.

Just in case you missed my post from last month when I posted the trailer for the film, I have embedded that video below once more to keep it easy for you so you can see what you are in store for if you attend. It sure does look like fun and I cannot wait to see it as well. I don’t think I can attend today so will just have to rely on the DVD/Blu-ray release.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ll keep any additional thoughts about this to myself until I see the whole film and get to the review process. I will however leave you with the link to see all of our Twisted Sister related content on the website so you can be as up to date as possible. Just click HERE and it will bring you to everything that is tagged with the bands name. Have fun and if you have added thoughts about any of that Sister content feel free to leave your topical comments on the ones that speak to you the loudest.

Today Is “Batman Day” for 2015 at Participating Retailers

Logo - Batman Day - 2015

Greetings citizens of this great Gotham City, it is once again “Batman Day” and if this is completely new to you then welcome to the party. This event started last year during the Caped Crusaders own 75th Anniversary and I thought it was pretty cool since they were giving out free Batman masks and comic books at participating comic book retailers and specialty shops.

This year you can get yourself a shiny copy of the comic book that you see presented below which not only gives you an action packed story in “Batman Endgame” but also gives you a few pages look inside the upcoming “Batman and Robin Eternal” comic book that should be on the stands in the coming months. We’re getting this post online nice and early because the early bird gets the worm or in this case the freebie comic book. I am unsure if there is anything else being offered this year and I think we might only be getting the comic book which is still not a bad thing when you consider that an issue of this size would normally run you about $3.00; This is open as long as supplies last and once they are gone you will have to hit eBay or something similar I guess.

Comic - Batman Day 1 - 2015

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ll be heading down to the Park Slope store for Galaxy Comics this time around since they don’t get too many visits from me around these times. If you are in the vicinity you should do the same or hit the Bay Ridge store. Then depending on time I might trek out to Midtown Comics to see what is what. Get your cape and cowl and show us your best “Batusi”. That’s all for now.

I’ve been open about how much we enjoy the offerings of the Mezco Toyz company here at the PiercingMetal Command HQ and over the past year we’ve covered both their BATMAN ’66 Mezitz Launch Event and gave readers an inside look into their TOY FAIR 2014 Offerings. That being said, it was great to learn about this super cool event regarding the super hot Living Dead Dolls. Check out the poster since it speaks volumes.

The Press Release:

As part of the yearlong celebration of the 16th anniversary of the Living Dead Dolls, Mezco Toyz will preserve the dolls’ legacy in a most unusual fashion; a time capsule with a “deadly” twist. Crafted in the style of old world woodworking artisans, the Living Dead Dolls time capsule is designed in the form of an antique “toe pincher” casket and features an expertly appliquéd burnished metallic Living Dead Doll symbol on the lid. Unlike other time capsules which are enclosed in corner stones or planted beneath fairgrounds, Mezco has designed a unique plan for the Living Dead Doll artifacts; they will be interred in a mausoleum.

Have A Hellish Halloween Metal Maniacs (10/31/2012)

To celebrate Halloween 2012 in a truly Metal fashion, I decided to present you fans and fiends with a run down of our so far covered Horror themed Metal and Punk releases. The photo I used just felt appropriate for the scenario that I was setting up. I actually took it during the summer. Go figure.

I’ve admitted to being a fan of comic books and monster movies over the years to my readers and that bled into music in some sense as I also enjoy the spookiness of performers like The Misfits, Lordi, Wednesday 13 and the mighty Alice Cooper. What I did below was present you all with a query search that pulls up any review article that has the word “horror” in its description. Just something to bide you along during the day after you steal some of the candy from the Trick or Treaters.

Happy Halloween \m/
