The Press Release:
Spider-Senses will be tingling across New York City as The New York Public Library (NYPL) and Marvel Entertainment join forces to release a special, limited-edition Spider-Man library card on October 11 to inspire new and existing patrons to explore a multitude of free books, resources, and programs at the Library, including Marvel graphic novels. This dynamic collaboration—which debuts just in time for New York Comic Con—marks the 60th anniversary of Spider-Man’s first comic book appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15 and emphasizes the importance of reading, knowledge, and libraries to Peter Parker’s crime-fighting comic book adventures. Images of Spider-Man—alongside Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, two other iconic web-slingers—will be featured on the card, as well as on upcoming banners outside the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building and the windows of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL), exciting patrons of all ages to tap into the unique power of reading, comics, and libraries to discover their inner super hero. ozzy osbourne logo

The 2022 Edition of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games ended yesterday and as a part of the grandiose closing celebration there was a surprise appearance by Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi. This would be the first appearance by Ozzy on the live stage in about three years. The pair were joined by Tommy Clufetos on drums and Adam Wakeman on bass.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: What more can I add to this? I really don’t think there is a whole lot of discourse to add outside of how awesome it was to see two legendary members of Black Sabbath jamming out to one of their most classic of numbers “Paranoid”. According to some reports they also did “Iron Man” but this was the only Official Video posted on the Black Sabbath YouTube Channel. Everyone sounded great and the two legends were smiling back and forth during the song which had to send satisfying waves through the screen of those watching it like this and for sure to those who were witnessing this in person. I doubt we shall see one more go round for Sabbath in the touring sense but after these pandemic times and the way that the world is turning I surely wouldn’t mind it. What say you all? Chime in down below in the comments and I will see you again soon.

Since so much has happened over these last few months I don’t expect everyone to remember every move or activity we do here at the Media Command HQ but it is without question that we love doing the conventions and trade shows. I’m talking about the New York Comic Con, Toy Fair, Anime NYC and even the New York International Auto Show, NY Now and more. After so many of them cancelling because of the pandemic, I’m eager to get back to proper activity but this year has proven to be a crapshoot and its still weird so our friends at the Toy Insider are going virtual once again and extended PiercingMetal and its companion website “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” an invite to their second “Sweet Suite @Home” affair. It would be laid out in the same fashion as the 2020 affair which while fun was a tad confusing to get used to at the onset. This time around I prepped well in advance with the vendors I needed to “see” and was thinking I’ve gotten the hang of it all.
