Win A Ticket For Katatonia @ Sony Hall on 11/11/2022
If you are thinking that the sheer amount of concerts happening one after the other is almost impossible to keep up with then you wouldn’t be wrong about it. As we’ve already pointed out, the city keeps on climbing back to a more normal status and the entertainment industry is rallying hard to put these amazing bands back on the stages around us. One of the latest crushing Metal shows to come our way is from Sweden’s Katatonia who recently signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records.
The Details: Katatonia is truly a band of experts when it comes to bringing intense levels of melancholy and atmosphere to their music and of course their live shows. I’ve caught them a number of times over the years and have been impressed each and every time. Their most recent album is entitled “City Burials” and the upcoming “Sky Void Of Stars” will release in 2023. They will be hitting the Sony Hall with The Ocean Collective and Cellar Darling and thanks to the fine folks at Blue Note Entertainment a few of the Metal masses will be enjoying this show for free. Read more below on how this works.

Michael Schenker Group @ Sony Hall (10/22/2022)
The music scene of many cities is finally getting back to more of a normal sense of business in this post-pandemic world and while the scourge that is/was COVID-19 is still very much a thing, there is more safety thanks to vaccines and precautions. This let’s artists that have sat at home get back to work and the venues that house their performances get back to business. Sony Hall in Hell’s Kitchen off of Times Square has been bringing in some cool acts and it was fantastic to find that the Michael Schenker Group was one of the artists making a visit. I was in attendance at this much anticipated show which found the lead off band of Images of Eden starting off the night but traffic into the city was horrendous due to a nearby street festival. When I walked into the venue the band was closing it up with a cover of the Triumph classic “Fight The Good Fight”. It’s a great number and perhaps the way we should all be living nowadays as we strive for normal once again. I will hopefully catch them at some other time.

Win A Ticket For Blackmore’s Night @ Sony Hall on 10/30/2022
The city continues to rise from the pains of the pandemic and amazing artists are returning to the venues to perform for their fans at a record pace which is a fantastic thing to behold. We’ve pointed out that while there is more of a return that it’s not been all that easy to offer up the same number of giveaways that we used to do in the before times. Slowly but surely we rise once more and are happy to share this latest one with our readers. This is another first as PiercingMetal has never done a ticket giveaway for Blackmore’s Night.
The Details: If you’re a Hard Rock fan of any demographic, you already know the name of the Man in Black, Richie Blackmore from works with Rainbow and the legendary Deep Purple but are you properly schooled on his now long-standing Renaissance Rock experience known as Blackmore’s Night? If you have not enjoyed this troupe in the live sense then you are really missing out. It’s a festive show that finds many of the audience in Renaissance Fair attire to make the show all the more interesting. Over the years I’ve seen wizards, jesters, maidens and lords milling about and making this a lot more fun. It’s been a few years since I’ve caught them and now thanks to the marketing team at the beautiful Sony Hall in New York City, some of the PiercingMetal readership will be getting the chance to enjoy this concert for free. Let’s go over some of the details on how you participate in this giveaway.
