Born on this day way back in 1942, the now legendary Sir Paul McCartney made his first-ever appearance to parents Mary and Jim. We wanted to take a quick moment to wish the musician a very Happy 76th Birthday. For some reason I missed doing a post like this on his 75th but hey, better late than never right? To say that his musical career has been a bountiful one would be an understatement with his being a founding member of The Beatles and eventually Wings along with maintaining a very prolific solo career and since we are just raising a glass in his honor today you can hit up the Official Wiki entry below. I suggest grabbing a cup of tea because there is a lot to read and you’re going to want to open Spotify or whatever you use to stream music since I anticipate some listening across the course of your discovery.
So the photo you see is on the terrible side but was shot with a mobile device from about 80 million feet away when he played at the then brand-new CitiField. A friend of mine had an extra ticket that he gave to me so who could pass something like that up and I think it was the second of a four night stint but I’d have to check the concert review that I posted since it was nine years ago. You can read that report too if your interested by clicking on THIS LINK. It was a very good time and loaded with hits. I owe my appreciation of both The Beatles and Wings to my family so thank you very much oh wise ones for steering me properly on some good music when I was really young. Happy Birthday Sir Paul, we wish you very many more.
