Artist: Into Eternity Title: “Sandstorm” (Single) Label: Independent Artist Release Date: 7/25/2011 Genre: Progressive Death Metal Rating: 4/5
You might have been wondering if you were ever going to hear from the Progressive Death Metal band Into Eternity again since it’s been quite a while since any new music have come from their side of the fence. To be honest, a three-year break in material isn’t THAT long but given the speed in which these growing Social Networks are taking over our time it can be a lifetime. The band is now doing this on their own without any support from a label and seems to no longer be associated with Century Media Records and while they welcomed drummer Brian Newbury to the fold, it seems as though singer Stu Block has joined Iced Earth as their new singer. Block is featured on this track so perhaps he is able to do both groups. Let’s go over the tune. Continue reading “Sandstorm” (Single) by Into Eternity→
Artist: Black Veil Brides Title: “Knives And Pens” (Single) Label: Standby Records Release Date: 6/17/2009 Genre: Metalcore Rating: 4.5/5
In a couple of weeks, I will be catching this brand new band to my ears called the Black Veil Brides for their gig at the Gramercy Theatre. With no copy of the current album to warm me up I decided to poke around for a single and will be offering up thoughts about their own first called “Knives And Pens”. Research shows the song was released over a year ago but the one I am listening to is a re-recording for the most recent album “We Stitch These Wounds”. Let’s go. Before I begin I should state how I am not as up on Alexia’s Eyes Set To Kill band as I would like to be but since a bunch of my friends are rallying behind them, I know its material that I’ll be getting around to sooner than later. I know that a pair of twins run the show and lead singer Alexia Rodrqiguez has offered up a completely different solo side-project and when a trusted press contact asks you to give it a listen you do. With this album, Alexia calls herself “Lexia” and the release itself is called “Underground Sounds”. The first single from this Independent Release comes care of the song “Basements”. Here are some quick thoughts about it. Continue reading “Basements” (Single) by Alexia Rodriguez→
