Win A Ticket For Marty Friedman @ Highline Ballroom On 8/4/2017

The Details: If you play the guitar and are a fan of the Metal and Rock side of the fence then you very possibly know the name of the great Marty Friedman who worked for a number of years alongside Dave Mustaine in Megadeth. The musician has been a solo artist for quite some time now and has released a number of albums in his new location of Japan. Every so often he decides to pay a visit to the place he once called home and deliver incendiary displays of guitar virtuosity. With that in mind we are pleased to offer up this new contest for his performance at the Highline Ballroom next week. Read on down below for the rules on how to participate in this contest ticket giveaway. This should be a good one and features Scale The Summit and The Fine Constant as support.

When and Where: Friday, August 4th @ Highline Ballroom 431 West 16th Street (New York City)

To Participate: I’ve decided to keep this an easy one and by saying that I mean I will be sticking to my usual formula of you readers giving me “3” things that you like most about Marty Friedman and his body of work. Perhaps there are albums that “spoke” to you or concert appearances that sent you to the music shop to snag some tablature – whatever. Just give me three solid answers and how important it is to be at this show. I know I make you work but I work here too so whining will not win out at all LOL. Make this good reading because the stuff remains on the website and can likely inspire new fans as well on how our freebies work. Writing “because he rocks dude” is just too un-original and boring. I’ll be responding to the comments that I like most right below their answer. Kindly review some guidelines before entering your submission.

The Ocean & Scale The Summit Pair Up For 2014 “MMM” Tour

So you say you like The Ocean and you mean the band and not the cooling calming surf of vacations spots everywhere AND you also like Scale The Summit, we;; my fiends do I have a tour announcement for your because both of those bands are headed out on a run that will span the entire month of March. Talk about getting your March Metal Madness planned early (that’s why I did the “MMM” in the subject in case you wondered). More from their official Press Type Resources after the poster.

Official Press Proclamations:
“In just over a month, THE OCEAN will be returning to North America for the first time since last year’s Summer Slaughter takeover. Sponsored by MetalSucks, the journey will commence on March 5th in Seattle, include two performances in Austin, Texas at SXSW and finds the band co-headlining with Prosthetic Recording artists Scale the Summit. Additional support will be provided by special guests The Atlas Moth and Silver Snakes. The tour welcomes new THE OCEAN recruits, drummer Paul Seidel and guitarist Damian Murdoch, who replace Luc Hess and Jona Nido, both of whom departed the band on mutual terms late last year. Comments THE OCEAN founding guitarist Robin Staps: “Summer Slaughter was the final US tour for Luc and Jona. These clips bring back good memories of our last Summer together and a lot of crazy parties in parking lots across the country. Now I’m really looking forward to getting back to the US with our new guys. We’ve started rehearsing for our upcoming tours this week, and there’s a really good vibe in the room. We’re hungry to get out again, we’ve only been home for two months now but it already feels too long.”

Between The Buried And Me @ Fillmore at Irving Plaza (1/30/2010)

Logo - BTBAM

Artist: Between The Buried and Me
Venue: The Fillmore NY (New York, NY)
Opener: Cynic, Devon Townsend, Scale The Summit
Date: 1/30/2010
Label: Victory Records

Damn did it get cold over these last couple of days but that was fine because the Metal shows were proving to be hotter than ever as last night the Big Apple was paid a visit by Epica, Threat Signal and Blackguard and this killer sold out show would lead us into tonight’s main event as those young masters of Progressive Death Metal Between the Buried and Me returned to NYC. The last time that I remember this band playing in the city, was when they did an opening slot on the Children Of Bodom/Testament tour and if they visited after that it was probably a show that I didn’t attend. Those kinds of shows are great for the band resume, but with their material being so involved and rather long, one had to view a twenty minute showcase of what they can do as almost pointless. Tonight we would get our fill as they prepared to attack with their interesting brand of Metal and brought along Scale The Summit, The Devin Townsend Project and Cynic to make sure this was a night that no one would soon forget.
