Image Comics Announces “Super Freaks” One-Shot For June

Celebrate a decade of the Savage FINcast podcast with an official fan tribute to everyone’s favorite Fin-Head in the upcoming Super Freaks. This special, off-the-wall one-shot story will hit shelves this June from Image Comics.

Savage Dragon fans unite to produce one of the wildest comics ever created! In 2021, hosts of the Savage FINcast—a podcast that celebrates Savage Dragon and the work of creator and Image Comics co-founder, Erik Larsen—began planning a way to celebrate their ten-year anniversary. After brainstorming and gauging the interests of their friends, the hosts decided to attempt a self-published Savage Dragon Fanzine featuring the talents of their fellow Savage Dragon enthusiasts. With approval from Larsen himself, the hosts began work on the fanzine with the goal of producing something that could be awarded as a prize to their podcast listeners. The project—now titled Super Freaks—brought in the talents of twenty Savage Dragon super-fans, contributing four-to-five-page stories, one-page gag strips, pinups, and more.

Image Comics First Issues Coming In June 2017

Well hello again my friends, I hope you don’t mind another comic book post so early in the month but since there are a handful of awesome items coming out from Image Comics I couldn’t let them pass you by without a mention. As with our other posts, the general information and images from their press side of the fence and then I’ll close out with some editorial mumblings. Here we go.

CROSSWIND #1: Fan-favorite creators GAIL SIMONE and CAT STAGGS make their stunning Image debut with this mind-bending new ongoing series! A slick and ruthless Chicago hitman. Image Comics Unveils “8” April Fool’s Day Variant Covers For 25th Anniversary

The fine folks at Image Comics continue to deliver some truly interesting things in honor of the companies 25th Anniversary. We’ve seen some $.25 cent issues and some other variants that paid homage to the founding titles. This April we are going to find some fooling around taking place as they introduce “11” April Fool’s Day covers. These are “8” of them.

Image Comics is pleased to reveal the first eight of 11 variants planned for April’s 25th anniversary theme month—can you guess the month’s theme? APRIL FOOLS! Image Comics’ creators are unleashed all month long to prank fans with these covers—they’ll make comics readers do a double-take every Wednesday. Each month of Image’s 25th year will boast a theme for special anniversary variants. The following covers are sure to get comic fans and collectors talking.

Welcome back my fellow Comic Book fans, I am so glad that you could once again join us for the documenting of this years Comic Con. It is without question one of the most daunting things I had ever attended as a member of the media because I wanted to bring you into the Javits Center with my words and images and I think that I have managed to do so with the previous five chapters in the tale.
