Dramatic Lineup Changes In Finland’s Santa Cruz :(

It was just about a week ago when I pointed out that the Finnish Rock band Santa Cruz had pulled out of the remaining dates on their US Tour. They were one of the many openers for Fozzy and also doing some headlining dates on the off times during this run. We did that HERE if you missed it and want to be properly up to speed.

Though there wasn’t any sort of full OFFICIAL PRESS STATEMENT made about the status of the tour and why it was cancelled on their Official Website or Facebook Page, it seemed as though the band members took to their personal Instagrams and posted that they had left the group; Here are the embedded posts from Johnny Cruz, Taz Cruz and Middy Cruz (Joonas Parkkonen, Mitja Toivonen and Tapani Fagerstrom respectively).

Chris Jericho’s Fozzy To Rock Fans In 2018 With “Judas Rising” Tour

To say that December is already proving to be one that is loaded with information would be an understatement. Sure we are heading towards the closing of 2017, but bands are tossing out their 2018 plans out like crazy. This is a very good thing and if you’ve enjoyed the band Fozzy that is led by Chris Jericho then this will rock your senses too. Take a look at the press, the poster and the proposed dates. I’ll close out with additional editorial as well. Here we go.

The Press Release:
FOZZY, the active rock band led by Chris Jericho, will continue to rock their fans across America on their Judas Rising Tour with newly added tour dates in 2018. Set to launch February 28 in New Orleans, LA, the 25-date trek will take the band (Jericho: vocals, Rich Ward: guitars, vocals, Frank Fontsere: drums, Billy Grey: guitars and Paul DiLeo: bass) from east to west, including stops in Los Angeles on March 10 and New York City on April 5, before bringing them back across the country through the spring. Through Fire, Santa Cruz and Dark Star Choir will round out the bill for the night of rock headlined by FOZZY. Tickets for these newly announced dates (see below for list) go on sale to the public Friday, December 8.

“I’m stoked to do this extensive tour of the States now that ‘Judas,’ the song, is a Top 5 rock radio hit and Judas, the album, has gone top 40!” says Chris Jericho. “Fozzy is bigger than we’ve ever been, which means bigger production, bigger songs and bigger lighted jackets! So we can’t wait to rock your literal socks off starting in February!! JUDAS IS RISING!”

“I started playing guitar because of how deeply powerful the experience of going to concerts was for me,” Rich Ward adds. “With a hit single and a new album pushing Fozzy to new heights, I can’t wait to get back on the road in America to capture the power that only live music can create. Make sure to bring a helmet and your dancing shoes when Fozzy rolls through your town.”

The upcoming dates come on the heels of the October release of the band’s seventh album, JUDAS (Century Media), which Loudwire named as one of the top 25 albums of 2017, saying the band has continued “honing their craft and steadily improving. JUDAS is their most polished and fully realized album, and should be their most successful, as well.”

Happy Halloween 2017: Rockers Divulge Their Favorite Horror Films

It’s Halloween and with this post I am giving you a treat that will not promote tooth decay nor lead you to issues with your waistline. In the spirit of my inquiries that featured “Music Resolutions”; I’ve polled a number of Metal and Rock musicians in my world and asked them “What is your favorite Horror movie and why”. So get some popcorn, dim the lights and sit under a cozy blanket as we learn of some awesome talents favorite creepy film. It’s a lengthy list but splitting this one into parts didn’t make sense. Let’s go.

Chris Caffery (Savatage/Trans-Siberian Orchestra): “Halloween”. Because it was the only movie that not only scared me in the theaters it scared me afterwards in real life. In my opinion it’s the best horror film ever made. In the sense of true horror. A real killer. There was no superhuman bs in the first one. Just pure evil.

Gogo Melone (Aeonian Sorrow): From old films was “Dracula”… I really like the atmosphere and as a kid I was a big fan of vampires. The movie that scared my ass off the most and had nightmares for days with, were “The Ring” and “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”…I don’t think I’ll ever see them twice again ??

Jimmy Kunes (Cactus): God there’s so many. “Fearless Vampire Killers”, I know it’s a spoof. But what a film!!!

Elise Ryd (Amaranthe): “The Shining”. Those two kids are the most scary thing I’ve seen. And I don’t like that dude Johnny towards the end. “Here’s Johnny” ? And this is true.. Every time I’m in a hotel with long corridors I expect those kids to show up in the end of the hallway. Haha, that image is haunting me, STILL! It’s Enshrined in my memory.

Archie Kuosmanen (Santa Cruz): Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining because it’s the undisputed heavyweight champion of horror flicks!

Win A Ticket For Sebastian Bach @ B.B. King Blues Club On 5/18/2016

Poster - Sebastian Bach at BB Kings - 2016

The Details: Sebastian Bach is forever going to be known as the voice of Skid Row and with so many commanding tunes from their catalog under his belt I say that is damned fine. The lead singer has been a solo artist for many years now and still leaves his diehard fans breathless after each and every show. He’ll be releasing a memoir soon which I can hardly wait for and now he is on tour once more and paying a visit to one of our favorite venues, the great B.B. King Blues Club. The tour will also feature Santa Cruz as direct support and they are one of the hottest new bands out of Finland – trust me. All of this stuff makes me happy to announce that thanks to the marketing team at the venue, some PiercingMetal Fans will be hitting this gig for free. Check out the details for this contest below.

When and Where: Wednesday, May 18th at B.B. King Blues Club (237 West 42nd Street)

To Participate: It’s without question that Sebastian is an exciting Rock personality and has numerous albums that many fans cite as their favorites. With this in mind please just give me three things about his albums, a favorite song or concert experience that is high on your rating scale and why this is the case. Make this good reading because the stuff remains on the website and can likely inspire new fans as well. Now since there are likely newbies in the mix that want to be a part of the fun, those people can get me three solid reasons why they must be at the show. If you want some brownie points and feel like throwing in a little about Santa Cruz then do that also. I will not mind. Just make it a little interesting and more than “because he rocks dude” because that is just too un-original and boring. I’ll be responding to the comments that I like most right below their answer. This is for a single ticket only and no plus one requests can be honored. Sorry.
