In September of 2019, we were on stage for two incredible nights with the San Francisco Symphony commemorating the opening of the new Chase Center here in our backyard as well as the 20th anniversary of the first S&M. Celebrating with fans from all around the world (almost 70 countries represented!) and sharing the stage with our hometown symphony, its legendary Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas, and conductor Edwin Outwater, was beyond inspiring and a major highlight in our crazy, cool time as a band. Now we can all relive those two special nights as both video and audio versions of the shows are available for pre-order now, hitting stores on August 28.

Now In Theaters: “Metallica S&M2” For One Night Only

Back in July I shared the news about the Metallica live concert film “S&M2” which finds the band delivering the goods with the San Francisco Symphony at the brand new Chase Center in San Francisco. If you missed that post please click HERE to learn more. Tonight this film will premiere for one night only in more than 3000 theaters across the country.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I really wanted to see this film in the theaters as opposed to on the big screen TV but the deluge of things to process post New York Comic Con and the planning for the weeks ahead will make this impossible. I’d actually like to see “Joker” today since the forecast is going to be mostly rainy and chilly. There are no better days to see a movie than on one like that. What about you folks? Are you planning on seeing this film in the theaters during its one night only presentation? A few months ago, I shared the news from Metallica and their at the time upcoming “S&M2” pair of concerts with the San Francisco Symphony. The Scoop:
The response to the two S&M² shows earlier this month at San Francisco’s new Chase Center has been nothing short of mind-boggling! We had the most incredible time with the San Francisco Symphony and now cannot wait to share it with the world on the big screen. The film will play in over 3,400 theaters worldwide on October 9th, but here’s your chance to see it first!

Metallica Is Bringing “S&M2” To The Big Screen For One Night Only

In a few months, Metallica will be revisiting the “S&M” idea with a couple of special shows in California and for those of us who couldn’t secure a ticket, there will be a screening. Take a look down below on this super cool happening.

As many of you know, we were blown away by the response to S&M² when we announced the first – and then second – show this past spring. For those of you who can’t attend either of the gigs in the Bay Area, we still want to share this unique performance with you. On October 9th, we are psyched to be bringing you S&M², a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original S&M concerts, album, and film that also commemorates the grand opening of the state-of-the-art Chase Center, a historic addition to San Francisco’s waterfront. This one-night-only event will be shown in over 3,000 movie theaters around the world!
