After the festival has been postponed (discussed HERE), we are now looking forward to Wacken Open Air 2022: We can already unveil the first bands for W:O:A today, which will take place from August 4th to 6th, 2022. There are also first announcements for Wacken Wednesday on August 3rd, 2022!

Jan Quiel from the booking team explains: “We want to move as much of the planned program into next year as possible and we are currently having highly positive discussions on it. Some bands already do have other plans for 2022, so we are more than happy to have great interest from new bands to join the line-up.”

Monsters Of Rock Cruise Announces 2022 Excursion

The annual Monsters of Rock Cruise, the world’s premier hard rock/heavy metal experience at sea, is returning in 2022 to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Departing out of Miami, Florida, promoter On The Blue announced the five-day/five-night full ship charter cruise will set sail February 9-14 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, visit two ports in CocoCay, Bahamas and Labadee, Haiti, and features performances from rock icon Alice Cooper, along with performances from over 35 artists.

The public on-sale kicks off today (5/11) at 9:00 am ET, with cabins starting at $1,799.00 per person (double occupancy, not including mandatory taxes and fee supplement). All 75,000 tickets for W:O:A 2021, which will take place from July 29 to 31 2021, have already been sold! The organizers have now announced the first bands on the festival line-up! Metal fans can look forward to: Judas Priest, Hämatom, Dropkick Murphys, As I Lay Dying, Rose Tattoo, Tarja, Lordi, Death SS, Venom and Moonspell.

This years Wacken Open Air couldn‘t take place due to the current pandemic. Although it’s much more quiet in the small village Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, the tradition announcing bands for the upcoming edition during the last festival day still remains!
