Here Be The Winners Of The 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards

For those that might be interested, last night the Revolver Golden Gods Awards for 2014 took place and were streamed across the Internet over mediums such as Amazon.com to name one of the few and as in the past, the greats of the Metal Scene assembled en masse in order to honor talent and achievement in our crushing genre.

I secured the winning list from the official Revolver Magazine site and wanted to get it out to you readers of the PM.com blog so you are in the know in case you didn’t watch the streaming video and were otherwise engaged but dying to know the results. I admit that I didn’t really watch too much of it this year but will watch the highlight reel that will air on VH1 Classic in the coming weeks for sure. Despite that I did notice a lot of my Metal Media friends were in attendance and thanks to their numerous Facebook postings I was able to enjoy the happenings through their eyes. Here are the winners in the various categories.

Full Winners:
Best Vocalist: Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age
Best Live Band: Rob Zombie

Dimebag Darrell Best Guitarist: Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance, Avenged Sevenfold

The night featured performances by Slayer, A Day To Remember, The Pretty Reckless, Suicide Silence (who were joined by Max Cavalera for “Roots Bloody Roots”), Joan Jett and Guns N’ Roses. Clearly Avenged Sevenfold were the big winner this time around and made me think back to the time when the Foo Fighters won almost every Hard Rock and Metal category during the Grammy’s a few years ago. Their a band that I still need to catch in concert so perhaps when they headline this years Rockstar Mayhem Festival. What are your thoughts about the winners of these awards and if you saw the show what did you think of it? Let us know in the comments below which have been left open for your thoughts.
