It was just about a month ago when I first talked about some of the toys coming out for next year’s giant-sized film “Godzilla Vs. Kong” and in that overview (seen HERE), I used provided stock images from the fine folks at Playmates Toys. Having reviewed a number of their products here on the website in the past and being a continual supporter of their line based on our Toy Fair adventures I was stoked to find a package of some of the products coming to the Media Command HQ for me to examine in a little more detail.

Playmates Toys Reveals “Godzilla Vs. Kong” First Set of Figures

While the world might be on hold in terms of proper film releases, the folks that make the toys that often accompany a release are keeping hard at work with the products to come and have begun doing their reveals and even some releases just in time for the holiday season. We’ve just completed a very fun virtual event held by the fine folks at The Toy Insider with their “Holiday Of Play” happening and one of the awesome reveals came from Playmates Toys with some figures for the upcoming “Godzilla vs Kong” film. Some of you might remember that this film was supposed to come out this past summer but the Coronavirus Pandemic pushed it back like so many other things. It will arrive next year now and my hope is that it will be on the big screen and not via my Playstation or Roku device. The images below come from Playmates Toys themselves and they are pretty straightforward. Let’s look and discuss

First up we have the 6” Godzilla figure and he is shooting a beam of that radioactive fire he is so famously known for. The package above looks very nice and as you can see by the out of package image he is poseable in as much as a creature like Godzilla might be. I will assume that the mouth and tail have some poseable nature but don’t quote me since I am not looking at a physical product here. There is also some “Battle Damage” which is pretty cool. Now onto the mighty Kong.

Playmates Toys Unveils “Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Toy Line

We recently received this press news and images from the fine folks behind the media affairs of Playmates Toys regarding the new product line for Nickolodeon’s “Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”. Take a look at that down below and know that I will return with some editorial ramblings at the close.

Cowabunga – the heroes in a half shell have returned with a whole new look! Playmates Toys announced today that its Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line will be available at major retailers starting October 1. As the longtime master toy licensee for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Playmates Toys developed this all-new product line based on Nickelodeon’s brand-new animated series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which premiered on September 17, 2018. The toy line includes an assortment of highly detailed action figures, as well as vehicles, a playset and role play toys.

In addition to the new toy line, Playmates Toys is also introducing a Sewer Squad Pizza Points Loyalty Program, where fans can collect and redeem pizza points for exclusive toys and more. A unique, secret code is included in every Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy package from Playmates Toys. Playmates Reveals “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” SDCC Exclusive Figures

If you’re heading to the Comic Con International: San Diego next week AND are a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, then you are going to want to be on the lookout for this exclusive set that will be making an appearance care of the fine folks at Playmates Toys. Check out the skinny below.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: With the holiday just having passed us, I will only say this – “I have a lot to catch up to” and with that let’s close up by saying how awesome this new Voltron set is. Sure its a tad pricey but its five different components and they all look to be rather sturdy and its big. You get what you pay for my friends and you sure don’t want to miss out on this one if you are attending the convention. We don’t get to SDCC which is a shame but we do NYCC so yeah.
