The tour announcements keep on coming, and this is one that I am very happy to be sharing with you all. The mighty Ghost will be embarking on a career encompassing tour called “Rats On The Road”. Check out the poster and the full press release that I recently received, I’ll return at the close with some additional editorial thoughts.
The Press Release:
Grammy® Award-winning band Ghost today announced a tour that will kick off on May 5, 2018 in Riverside, CA, and visit US cities throughout the Spring. Tickets and VIP packages for the “Rats On The Road Tour” will go on sale on this Saturday, March 3rd at their official site linked below.
Last December, Ghost release the live double-album Ceremony And Devotion, which was recorded during their critically exalted Popestar tour during the summer of 2017, and features fan favorites spanning the band’s entire catalogue from Opus Eponymous (2010) to Infestissumam (2013) to Meliora (2015) to the Popestar EP (2016). The album documents Ghost’s unforgettable live show in pursuit of becoming the world’s next great arena band.
Ceremony And Devotion is available digitally via iTunes – Spotify, Amazon and Google Play, and physically on double CD and double LP. Exclusive, limited edition “translucent tigers eye” colored vinyl and bundles including a lenticular poster, limited edition 8-track, and t-shirt, are available exclusively in the Ghost Shop. Ghost’s most recent studio album, Meliora, and its accompanying EP Popestar, elevated the Swedish rock band into the pantheon of the greatest rock bands on earth and resulted in a Grammy® Award for ‘Best Metal Performance’. Meliora debuted at No. 1 at Independent Retail, No. 2 at Rock, and in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart, selling over a quarter million copies globally. Popestar debuted at the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Hard Rock Albums chart and produced an Active Rock chart topper with “Square Hammer”. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Hmmmm. No NYC or even reasonably accessible New Jersey shows on this run so one has to assume (or at least hope for) an additional group of dates being offered up. Considering how well the ghoulish ones go over in these terror-tories it makes proper sense. I know that I will not be able to catch them at any of these venues and it pains me to say that but I wonder what you readers think about this new tour announcement. Let me know the level of your adoration down in the comments section below. It would please the clergy to know you are preparing for their return nice and early. As far as my own sector, I await further instructions on how to proceed.
