The MTV Video Music Awards for 2025 finished their broadcast a short while ago and while most of the program is not something that the diehard Rock and Metalheads would remotely pay any attention to, the show this evening offered up an “Ozzy Tribute” in honor of the late, great Ozzy Osbourne who the music world lost back in July. Performing some of his classics are Yungblud, Nuno Bettencourt, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.
By now, I’m sure that the more tenured members of the readership know about my attending the bi-annual NY NOW Gifting Show for the purposes of content on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” and you can see some of our historical stuff by clicking the hyperlinked text. As I’ve mentioned, the show runs twice each year and I’ve just recently attended their Summer Market and was once again able to secure some cool intel for you to be up to speed on what is coming from the Quarto Books publishing company.
We love visiting the Quarto Brooks booth when wandering the NY NOW show and back during the Winter Market there was not a lot of new things to share with you. Only the Kaiju book and a Judas Priest item. To see those as a reminder click HERE. This time around there were several new items, such as “Rush at 50”. Tomorrow, the legendary Ozzy Osbourne will be laid to rest in his native Birmingham, England. Though the funeral itself will be a private matter for his family and closest friends, the funeral procession past the Black Sabbath bridge and bench will be livestreamed so the world of fans he made can say goodbye one more time. The full details are on the link to the Black Sabbath Bridge down below.

For those on the East Coast I believe this will begin at 8AM so find yourself some quiet space and maybe make a cup of tea or coffee to be awake if you’re a late riser. It’s still hard to believe that Ozzy is gone but he is. His music and memory will resonate forever in the hearts and minds of his fans everywhere. Rest in Peace Ozzy. Thanks for everything that you gave to Metal and entertainment.
The Heavy Metal Legions are grieving hard with the news that the legendary Prince Of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at age 76. It was only a few short weeks ago that he hit the stage for one last time as a solo artist and with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for what was viewed as an ultimate celebration of a life devoted to Heavy Metal music. The statement from the Osbourne family is presented below this photograph that I snapped with my mobile back in 2016 at one of “The End” performances by Sabbath.

The Statement:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time”. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis
The Press Release:
People say to me, if you could do it all again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything? I’m like, f*** no. If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I’d done normal, sensible things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy.
Look, if it ends tomorrow, I can’t complain. I’ve been all around the world. Seen a lot of things. I’ve done good… and I’ve done bad. But right now, I’m not ready to go anywhere.
